Anyone interested in a TWISTING FOR GROWTH Challenge???

:poke:

Just playing...I totally understand. That's why I decided to just wear twist for 3m. I got tired of fooling w/ my hair on a daily basis. My hair was like "LEAVE ME ALONE" :lachen::lachen:

I am momentarily exhausted, too. But I think my resting style will be a twistout. My twist outs stay really defined and almost as stretched as my twists, and they look fuller and prettier to me. I'll be watching you guys, though.

Hey..how long do your twistouts typically last. And do you have any issues w/ tangles/knots???

I would love to join. I was going to do twists anyway this summer. I have had some coil twists in for 2 days now that I did myself. Its my first time doing twists of any kind. I only used my con and water mix and used mango butter to get them to coil good.

Here are the pics, don't laugh, I know they are a hot mess. I had just washed them and one side I have added more mango butter, haven't got to the other side yet.

this is the first time I have seem my head from the top, I think I will go get them done next time.
I don't want to use gel or wax in my hair tho, I have heard that stuff is hard to get out

Medium and then I'll probably pin them up or back. I want to wash my hair so I can do it but just thinking about the detangling process have me .

I bet it's going to look so pretty. How long does it take you to detangle. Maybe your honey can help you :Blush2::wink2:

How long is the challenge for. I'll do it, but I may switch to finger coils or braids just for variety.

Hey..It's from Jun 1-Sept 1. And I'm all for variety. I just tend to wear my hair in twist a lot, so selfishly I "NEED" this challenge to get more creative hairstyles as well as hair growth.

Thanks for joining. I'll add you to the list. And there are a lot of us on here that can definitely help you in your twist journey.

I recently posted this thread:

In it, I found a lot of great info.

And adapting to what Ekaette said in the post, I recently washed my twist.

The results are here:

So with the right method, you can definitely wash your twist and not have them looking messy. I have decided to wash mine 1x/week.

Ain't no way I'll let him help me with detangling. He need to stick to being the water boy, just pour water:lachen:.

I did the twists though. They turned out to be small.

I have issues with tangles and knots at all times for all hair styles, but I do not have any more tangles and knots for twistouts than I do for twists. In fact, I think twistouts may be a little better because the ends of my twists sometimes want to get a little huggy. My twistouts will last, and stay defined, until I wash my hair. I think this is a combination of my texture and the fact that I don't put a lot of moisturizer/humectant on my hair.

I put my twist in. They are not "mini", but are smaller than normal. I must say that doing the grab method allow me to work faster than parting and it looks better.

Girl, your hair is absolutely gorgeous. How long do you plan on wearing these twist and how long did it take you to complete.

And LOL on your water boy. Mine is my measuring hair boy...:lachen:

Interesting..I find that my twistouts can be a tangled mess if I'm not careful. What do you use in terms of moisturizer???

ok thinks, i'm going to try this method, i'm twisting tonight, i'm also in a deep conditioner challenge, so i'm have to figure out how too deep condition my hair without messing it up, i'm prob. sit in the steam room to do this and rinse under a slow streaming water like you did, did you also do the towel method or did you just let it dry naturally?

Yep..I'm in it too...But I slacked off once I did these mini-twist ...Plan on doing a DC this week. And I used 2 of DHs old tee to dry (like the towel method)..

3 1/2 hours off and on. I say off and on because I was doing one of my in-laws hair as well (wash, deep con, rollerset then wrap). It was relly easy after my hair was sectioned off so all I had to do was take down a ponytail holder, mist it and twist into 4 twists on average with some curly pudding. I'll continue with this method throughout the challenge.

Here's a pic of my sectioned hair

I'm going to keep these in for 2-3 weeks.
