Weave or a Perm?

Okay so I am debating my next protective style. If I do a wet bun I will have to get a perm so it lays down nice and its easier to maintain, I will get my hair lady to do my perm, and no it does not break my hair out. Or, I was thinking another weave, but sometimes I dont always like weaves because it seems it makes my ends diff lengths, where it could grow longer if I did not use a weave... Although it does grow my hair out, but I think it would grow faster if I did no weave and just wet bun my hair.

Also, I think going back to a perm will be good because it would be less heat. So less heat or chemical... I go for less heat.... I know how to take care of the chemical, what do you think?

which one is more beneficial to you wet bunning or weaves in terms of hair growth and retaining? For the wet bunning, could you use a scarf to lay down your edges/new growth?

How many weeks post are you? Perm is not a pretective style??

Are you asking me if perm is a protective style? I thought it wasnt? I mean i dont know i know nothing lol, i would assume in my opinion it would be because its better than heat.... hmmmm. I am like a year and a half... i was trying to go natural, but i miss my perms, i could skip the pressing comb before.

not understanding why you need a relaxer to get your hair to "lay down nice"....that's what a scarf and aloe vera gel are for, right?

Stretch is to strecth or extend the time between relaxers....No I meant you made it seem like perming was a protective style....You dont not need to perm often. Also flat ironing is way better than using heat espesically when you are using it only on the new growth and using it sparingly..Im actually a little confused at this post...
YOU DONT NEED A TOUCH SO YOUR EDGES CAN LIE DOWN!!...LOL. Lil sparkle is right scarf and gel.I would go for less chemical...Perming is a serious process and do it often it not good for your scalp at all...You shud stretch your relaxers at 2 ,3 months..If you want to go natural do so unless you prefer straight hair. Also perms cud break your hair if they over process it.Weave should not break your hair if you are caring for your real hair underneath. Also weaves do make your hair "grow"..they aid in length retention.

i personally love both. i love weaves, but only because i can hide my hair, and it grows like a weed when i don't mess with it. also, i love weaves because it helps me stretch out the time between touch ups with chemicals.

i also love getting a "perm" so that i can manage my hair better without heat, since i prefer straight styles. you can have healthy relaxed hair if you care for it properly, deep condition and stay far away from direct heat like flatirons.

i am biased, so i will tell you what my healthy hair care specialist (my stylist) would say....she would tell you to try other ways to manage your hair texture without chemicals. chemicals breakdown the hair strand and weaken it.

BUT i would encourage you to use the method that will keep your hair healthiest and is easies to manage. try some other methods before you resort to chemicals, like the aloe gel and scarves to control your edges when you bun.

(fyi i am relaxed and i stretch as long as i can between. i prefer relaxing my hair, but i do agree that no chemical is best)
