Sea weed Extract for hair growth and restoration?

Has anybody used sea weed extract for hair growth purposes? I started using the alter ego revitalizing lotion for hair growth(which has been great), but is too expensive to make a staple product. The main ingredient is seaweed extract. I was thinking about buying the seaweed extract seperately(sp) and adding it to my rosemary oil blend. Has anybody used this alone topically? I would love to hear testimonies. I would also like to konw if anyone has taken sea kelp/seaweed as a supplement?

Never used it but I plan to after doing more research. I know that Carol's Daughter uses sea weed in one of her conditioners.
