Re: ~*~*Break Out Your Castor Oil - 2010 Edition Cycle 2~*~*

congratulations on your progress in your crown and for heading on to MBL so quickly!

the crown is one of the toughest parts to grow, so that is really a triumph!

i'm happy for you!

on a personal note...still applying my jbco and loving it!

Thank you!..The crown area is crazy...it grows fast but UBER THICK and it doesn't LAY DOWN...just grows OUT and WILD (lol)........I already joined the MBL 2011 challenge....I am shooting for MBL next summer.....Since I am up for a major trim in a couple of weeks, my hair will need more time....! It may not ever grow completely even or with a blunt look since my hair just naturally does the V-shape thing, but hopefully the longest layer will be MBL stretched, BSL unstretched...and the crown area APL....that would be great....!

Okay, I can't believe it worked:look:Here's my updated pic. Now to figure out how to replace my siggy!!!

I am still using my castor mixture 2-3x a week. I have been trimming also. I am trying to decide to cut off some length now, or at the end of the year.

So far so good since I've been on the Castor oil kick! I'm out of my microbraids and just keeping my puff cornrowed and wigged up. I can't wait to compare my progress pics, but I know its grown, my last poo and condish felt like a huge ball of cotton. I fear I must be entering the awful in between stages, but at this rate of growth, it won't last long.

I recently got cornrows so its been super easy to apply my JBCO. I just take the applicator and go through my parts and gently massage it in. I do this every night. I'm down to 1 1/2 ounces of JBCO so I have to repurchase this soon. I'm going to continue using it beyond this challenge because my hair loves it so much.

Okay what's your reggie?! I love your avatar, your hair is growing like a weed! Congrats and great progress.

The challenge ended yesterday, thank you to all who participated. Take this week and next week to add your progress photos. The prize drawing will take place on Sept. 19, and a new challenge will begin in October. THANK YOU!!!

Here are my before and after pictures. Crossing my fingers for that JBCO drawing!!!

The first pic is my hair when I started the challenge. The other 3 is how my hair looks now.

Now I'm at 3-3 1/2 inches all around so I grew about an inch and some change.

Can't wait for round 3!

Okay what's your reggie?! I love your avatar, your hair is growing like a weed! Congrats and great progress.

Thanks so much! When my hair is loose I "spray-moisturize-seal" my hair daily.

Spray -- water and Rosemary EO
Moisturize -- Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter
Seal -- Castor Oil

I also shampoo and deep condition once a week with Renpure Organics Shampoo (red bottle) and Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner.

Now I'm in 2 strand twists under a wig. And my reggie is still pretty much the same. :)

How often are you using the JBCO on your edges. I am still using, but my edges are not really filling in much
I don't use it too often. I use it on wash days for sure and maybe 1 or 2 x's thereafter before washing my hair again. I use to be an avid traditional wrapper but I stopped wrapping my hair within the last 6 months. I'm now bunning my hair so stopping the wrapping has IMHO helped improve my edges in addition to the jbco.

i don't have much in terms of a before and after picture.

since my siggy pic,(taken in july) not enough time has passed to see a big change in pictures, although in person, the difference is more noticable.

yet, i really want to be in the next challenge because this product is definitely a keeper in my staple line up from now on!

maybe in the next one, i'll have some pics to post.

I had great edges photos I wanted to submit for the challenge but somehow I lost the beginning photos. :perplexed. I'll submit photos of the length of my hair instead.

Great progress everyone! :yay:

Unfortunately, I fell off midway and haven't been applying my castor oil so I'm not going to post an update picture to enter in the drawing. I plan to get back in for October.

KUTGW!

The time flew in this challenge!!!

I'm weaved up, so I can't take a pic of my hair until touch up in a couple of weeks. Sorry! I will join the next cycle.

Bump** So many challengers so few results...LOL! I'm very interested cause JBCO is a love of mine!

Good job to those who have posted! Keep 'em comin!

I am trying to conduct the prize darwing but I have very few ending pics. So far I see pics from the following participants:

cutenss
Evallusion
MzV1991
Newtogrow

If you have entered your pic by Sept 18 and you do not see your name listed please let me know, I will continue the prize drawing tomorrow if no one else has submitted a pic then 3 of the 4 ladies listed above will win the prize. :yep: Thanks!

Sorry for delay on posting pics! JBCO helped fill in my edges and thicken the overall appearance of my hair. check out my progress (apologizes for all photos not being of the very same angle/look...hope I can still qualify). I used JBCO 2x-3x weekly, but always on poo day. My focus for this challenge was to fill in my edges. While I feel I still have a ways to go, I can see a tremendous difference. I can tell my hair improved overall in thickness around the hemline especially....and grew just a tad bit also.

I lost my beginning edges photo but the before photo shown is mid-way through the challenge but is the only photo I have to show where I somewhat started from:

If you read the last few posts before yours you'll note that some have tried to upload, but can't. No one can attach pics to posts anymore since the upgrade. From what I understand you can only link to photos from an online source (like fotki, photobucket, etc). So its not really that we don't want to be in the contest. We just can't upload.

Sorry for the delay.....I had a rough week...I got a BKT done yesterday and couldn't post in time for the deadline.....I will enter cycle 3...I really enjoyed this challenge.....My results were:

1. thicker hair
2. I went from BSB to BSL+
3. Edges filled in!
4. Crown grew ALOT....

...but in my last pic with the BKT I got a little trim to above BSL....The hair in the last pic is curled some, and when I pulled it I touched the top of my bra........
Thanks BlackGeisha for the opportunity...I really enjoyed this challenge.....I created a pikistrip with a bit of a before and after....

I also couldn't find a way to "attach" a picture, so I ended up making a pickistrip as you can see above....it only took 10 minutes to create...If you don't have an account, you can create one for free...Its a good way to do a quick before and after......

Point taken I did read them, but I also took into consideration the ladies that were able to post pics despite troubles with the upgrade. Thanks!
