This is regarding make-up: You might want to take a look at some Jewish history (you might want to read some entries by the historian, Josephus). Jewish girls spent years learning make-up application. In addition, you can take a gander at all that preparation that Esther did during her run-in with the Persians lol.

The foundation of my Church is Penacostal ("Holiness") and even though we define our foundation of faith as 'non-denominational'.... we've never left our foundation of 'Holiness' and it's principal teachings. I have friends who are 'strictly' COGIC and the one thing we have agreed upon is this...

"The marriage bed is undefiled". What happens between a man and his wife (male and female -- which has to be emphasized these days) is between them and God and no one else.

There are COGIC couples who have 'oral' sex in their marriage and they keep it private. While there are others not only in the COGIC faith, but other denominations as well, who strictly do not believe that oral sex is permissable.

There is a consensus that anal sex is completely forbidden. This is an 'afront' to God and to His plan and purpose for procreation. It's just simply forbidden and it's so obvious why it should be. The diseases which are carried and transferred by one's fecal matter is reason enough, let alone this is an act performed by homosexuals. The anal area is not designed for sex, no matter how many people may try to validate or defend it.

The subject of make-up being forbidden in many faiths stems from the account of Jezebel who painted her face for purposes of performing witchcraft, not for femininity or for softening her features. It is also based upon the scripture in I Peter...

I am personally involved with many Ministries, I am close friends with many Ministers, Pastors, and Christian organizations; I live in an Othodox Jewish community, and of each of these faiths I see a mix of those who wear makeup and those who do not, yet neither condemns the other for the difference.

I have close family members and very close friends who are Seventh Day Adventists (they belong to Berea Temple in MD), the women do not wear makeup or jewelry other than a wedding band. Yet, I notice that there are some COGIC Ministers who wear minimal makeup and small jewelry, nothing overstated and out of each of the Faiths I've mentioned in this post, the individuals are faithful to God in their ways of living for Him.

None of these women are wearing makeup or jewelry for the purposes of performing witchcraft as Jezebel did. None of these women are being immodest as it has been interpreted from the scripture in I Peter.

What has evolved is a matter of conscience among the Faiths in both areas you have questioned.

No one can tell a husband and wife what to do in their marriage bed. It's their business and God's. There are issues which should not take place such as pornograpy, other individuals, anal sex and sexual abuse, yet this should go without saying. Sex is a sacred part of marriage between a man and his wife not to be shared outside of one another; it should be enjoyed and received as a gift from God between them only.

Makeup is not a sin; no one was commanded 'not' to wear it. However, women were advised to be modest in apparel.

Personally, I do not wear makeup unless an occasion or event calls for it. I love the colors and the enhancements, but I also love my natural skin and having a 'clean' look. So, my preference not to wear it is not related to Faith. I just don't like looking 'made up'. In Church, I keep it quite minimal or none at all, but that's just me. Other women in Church wear more, and it hasn't hindered their walk with the Lord.

There are other threads on this and the other ladies here have much more to share and more helpful to you. Let's see what they share as well. I'll also try and locate the other threads. It's been a while since they were posted.

Blessings to you.

Put in a search for "oral sex" in the CF. There a huge thread about it. :yep: I can't remember the title, tho. As for oral and other sex...if semen is released outside the vaginal cavity, it's not conducive to procreating. I don't think the issue for oral and anal sex are in it's supposed "filth," but that it does not lead to natural conception, which is the biblical requirement for marriage. One cannot/should not block conception, which would also lead to all forms of contraception. It's considered a grave sin. If such sex acts ended with ejaculation into the vaginal cavity, it might be considered permissible. You have to go by your church so I'd definitely ask the pastor.

Sidestepping the "lynch mob"
Well, that's what gets us into trouble spiritually sometimes, wondering what others 'think', which can negate what God says.
There's the old adage, if you have to ask...you already know the answer. :look:
Heb 13:4 says
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

The Holy Spirit convicts our flesh and is balancer in our lives. Ever stare at something long enough to see what's 'not there'?
Meditate on this Scripture and let God speak directly to you on what it really means... it's a Rhema Word directly to YOU from HIM.

I have to agree with the above scriptures concerning the marriage bed being undefiled. Thats between the husband, wife, and God. As long as no sin is being committed. (I am not of the persuasion that BC's are a sin nor "coloring outside the lines" lol)

At the church I grew up at, it was considered carnal to wear make-up. At the church I attend now its a woman's perogative weather she wears it or not. I agree with the latter. The is nothing wrong with physical adornment by way of make-up, jewelry, cute clothes etc. The only things the Bible says is to be modest, and to make sure we are not putting more emphasis on whats on the outside than whats on the inside.

But the Bible also says don't go against what your conscience is telling you. If you believe that something is a sin, then it is a sin to go against that. I was just reading about this in Romans and I Corinthians. Some esteem one day over another, others consider all days equal, some refuse to eat foods offered up to idols, others see no problem since an Idol is not really a god. Don't go against what your conscience is telling you. (And if your conscience does not condemn you then just make sure you do not become a stumbling block to another-meaning dont try to persuade someone else to go against their conscience)

So if you feel that you shouldnt wear make-up, or oral coloring etc. then dont do it.
