Is coconut oil for moisture or for SEALING IN moisture?

I'm confused. I just bought some unrefined coconut oil and I like how it feels on my hair. After I wash/condition, I put in my leave-in and "seal it" with the coconut oil.

How do you use it?

I believe it is to seal. Well, for my hair anyway. Coconut oil doesn't moisturize my hair, just coats it. For me it works when I use it on dry hair but I also like to use after washing my hair while it's still damp.

I think coconut oil is great for sealing AND lubricating. Some folks do find it moisturizing, but most agree that only water or water based products can do that. So if you spray with moisture and follow with some coconut oil, you're doing your hair a huge favor.

It's good to eat too. I like to put a few tsp into my Korean Noodle soup. YUM!!
You can keep to separate containers or just keep your fingers out of the container and use a scoop whether for your hair or your meals.

ZZ, I find it moisturizing and a great end sealer. The medical studies I've read really recommend it for coating to reduce COMBING damage.
