How often to wash w/weave and Megatek?

I currently have a sew-in weave and I'm using megatek about 3xs a week. I still moisturize 3xs a week too. How often should I wash + condition my hair? I see a lot a members with weaves do it once a week, but I'm scared of matting by washing so often. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, before starting megatek I washed every two weeks with no matting problems.

I don't weave but based on the responses I've read, washing too frequently may cause faster matting. You might want to look into this thought b/c some might argue that it's all in the detangling process AFTER the take down.

Also, let us know if ur relaxed or natural.

I have personal experience with this...keep to the above schedule (as long as you don't put so much that you have visible residue) and you will be good!

Thanks! I'll stick with this for now. I'm using the megatek just on my scalp and not using a lot.
