How much shrinkage....

Okay, ladies. How much shrinkage do you get? For example, if you are a 3c, and at brastrap length, how long is your hair when you airdry?

In essence:

1. Hair type.
2. Relaxed, texurized, or natural.
3. How long is your hair when straight?
4. How long is your hair when you do a wash n go? (After it's dry.)
5. Any guesses on the % of shrinkage?

Oh, yeah any comparison pics would be great!

I'm soooo tempted to rock a wash n go in this awful heat, but my hair is only APL.

TIA!

1. Hair type.

I call myself 4a, but I'm really bad at hair typing.

2. Relaxed, texurized, or natural.

Texturized, but 4a is my natural texture, I think.

3. How long is your hair when straight?

19 inches from the hairline, 8 inches from the nape.

4. How long is your hair when you do a wash n go? (After it's dry.)

Hang on, let me measure the test hair I leave out of my braids... it's 5 inches unstretched.

5. Any guesses on the % of shrinkage?

5/8 * 100 - 100 = 37.5% shrinkage. Did I do that right?
It should be <unstretched>/<straight> * 100 - 100 = % shrinkage

3. How long is your hair when straight? When I stretch a section of my hair against a ruler, it measures anywhere from 6.5 to 7.0 inches

4. How long is your hair when you do a wash n go? (After it's dry.) Anywhere from 1.5 to 2 inches

5. Any guesses on the % of shrinkage? Approximately 75%

1. Hair type 3b/c

2. Past bra strap when straight

3. APL when curly or wash n go

4. 50% shrinkage at least

You can see my hair curly in a bun on myspace! I like it when everyone doubts how long my hair is due to shrinkage!!! And then when i do straighten it (only twice a year), everyones jaws does this:eek:
And then asumes it's a weave  when it is straight

i think i'm like a 3c/4a

2. i'm natural

3. When straight my hair is right on top of my shoulders

4. A dry wash n go puts me at like an ear-length/chin length type length

5. I guess the shrinkage would be anywhere between 25-60% i really don't know because my last wash n go was done on shorter hair.

1. Hair type: 4a/OS
2. Relaxed, texurized, or natural: Natural
3. How long is your hair when straight? About 6.5 to 8 inches
4. How long is your hair when you do a wash n go? I just stuck a ruler in the crown of my head - it's a little under an inch long.
5. Any guesses on the % of shrinkage? Hmmm - 90%, I'd say. My hair is three to four times longer than it looks....

This is fun! I was just thinking about this earlier - wondering how many inches of hair I would have to grow in order to see my hair get an inch longer....

I think I'll take some comparison pics tonight and stick em in my fotki.
