I don't even know what to search under but someone posted about tying string arount the hair to make twisties as a protective style. It's a great thread and got a lot of feedback, especialy from African sistas who've all seen it or done it.

There's also a link in it to YT video of a girl using her big toe to make the strings.

Please help me find that thread, ladies. And TIA.

Was it perhaps this one <3? I loved doing these as a kid. Just need to find a style that won't look childish as my hair is short now.

Nonie had some pics in this one (later on) but I'm trying to find out what it's called now. I've asked my dad but he has no idea. Going to ask a fam friend if she can give the name for it. I really want to know myself now as I've never known what it's called (Ghanaian term).

Can't search fir the thread at the moment, but just wanted you let you knw there's a really good YT channel on this. It's called girlsloveyourcurls. It's a lady who does this style on her daughters and they have retained a lot of length.
