Hair tangles after using steamer

I just love the way my hair feels after using my hair steamer, soft and moisturized, but even after rinsing with cold water, my hair is awefully tangled when trying to comb through. Can anyone shine any light on why this may be happening?. I poo with Devacurl no poo, and deep condition with Joico conditioner or Aubreys organics honeysuckle conditioner under the steamer. I have tried this with a plastic cap and without a plastic cap. I am at my wits end.

Steam with your hair pulled back in a ponytail or multiple ones. That is what I do sometimes. Then rinse in sections.

Prolly the rinsing afterwards is whats causing the tangling.
