FOR THOSE OF YOU HAVING TROUBLE WITH FOTKI AND SPYWARE

:thankyou: I haven't experienced that problem, but I'll add those and prevent it from happening, hopefully.

Thank you for this! Much appreciated. :yep:
I thought I was crazy for months:perplexed...everytime I went to a fotki, I had to prepare myself to run a spybot following a visit...:nono:

thank you sooo much!!

I had this problem earlier this week at work--and thought it was just my work computer, UNTIL it just happened to me here at home, a few moments ago while viewing someone's fotki.

many thanks again!! :yep:

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE INSTRUCTIONS! ... :yep: ... That spyware was driving me crazy. I had almost decided to close down my albums. My boyfriend went to my Fotki and one of them caught him up and he couldn't get out of it. He was NOT a happy camper ... lol

I found these two site in my Trusted section and did the same trick as the other sites you gave but the keep popping up in my Trusted Sites section. Can you help with this?

*.doginhispen.com
*.whataboutadog.com

TIA

:wallbash:Can someone check and see if my pw is now working for my Fotki. I have been tryin to fix it. Thanks.

pw is: mipela

Hmm, I wouldn't know why that's happening. I'd keep on deleting them and do a virus scan on your pc.

Sorry, I'm not too computer-literate :look::lachen:I found out how to block the sites by chance, lol. Hopefully someone else can chime in and help you.

Also, I sue Mozilla now. It's much better anyway. i don't have half as many internet problems that I use to have with the internet explorer.

bumping for those having issues with fotki recently. Now sure if these instructions are still effective, but it's worth a try.

well i added the sites to my restricted list but i'm still scared. i haven't been to fotki since the day i uploaded my pics and got the virus. :ohwell:

Not going back either. Screw them. I dont care if my computer wasnt secure enough. I have anti virus and malware and spyware programs on my computer. I mean what else do they want us to do.

They need to fix their site! They have ruined my daily routine of looking at hair porn and drooling. The nerve of them.

Im never going back there again!

Has anyone contacted Fotki? What are they saying about this?

The information is very simple and easy to find :S

But here's the FOTKI link to their customer service (Note: must be logged into use):

http://myaccount.fotki.com/customer_service/new_inquiry/

Fotki email address, Fax Number and snail-mail address: http://about.fotki.com/contact-us/

To File A Complaint: http://client.fotki.com/complaint/

Trust me, if I were having these problems, I'd have let them know all about it in a heartbeat. They may not even know this is happening to users (The New York Times sure didn't know until people contacted them) :look:.

Maybe folks can be compensated in some way :shrugs shoulders: (doubt it but they won't know until they try).

This worked for me. I do not get the pop ups any longer, which I'm certain is what causes the virus.

Have any of you all had problems accessing fotkis?

When you would try to look at your album, or anyone else's album, the screen would change, and you would automatically be directed to another website?

I finally figured out a way to avoid getting those websites to pop up on my computer. Here's what I did:

First, turn you pop-up blockers on.

Open your internet browser. Tools ---> Pop-up blocker ---> Turn on pop-up blocker

Second, you have to restrict access to these sites in your browser.
  1. Open your internet browser.
  2. Tools.
  3. Internet Options.
  4. Security Tab.
  5. Click on "Restricted sites".
  6. Click on sites.
  7. Copy and paste the 3 websites below and add them to the restricted list:
http://*.pcsecuresystem.com

http://*.privacyconductor.com

http://*.advancedcleaner.com

http://*.antispywaresuite.com

And that's it! I'm pretty sure that there are more, so as this problem arises, just add the new ones to the restricted list.

I hope this helps you guys, because I know those sites were driving me crazy :spinning::wallbash: For those of you who are not having this problem, you may want to do this anyway as a preventative measure to avoid having this problem in the future.
