I have many questions so here we go:
1. Can I crush msm pills and put it in a mix say moe's growth?
2. If msm is a form of sulfur, is it water soluble?
3. Has anyone used pure liquid msm in their hair?
4. Anyone have any results?

I have been wondering this also because I have some that I'm not taking because they made me gain weight.

I get these little chin hairs and I was afraid that I was going to look like a dude so I have the pills and the liquid sitting there so it would be nice to know.

I believe Den1 used pure MSM crystals in her hair products and she's one of the veterans of LHCF with gorgeous hair, both relaxed and natural. She no longer posts here and so I had a hard time finding her posts on this but she has a website here: http://www.mydelouisenaturals.com/

ETA: I found her. I wish y'all would stop changing your names :pullhair: Some of us old folks cannot keep up. Her screen name is now Godsno1girl. OK, wrong links given (sorry). Still looking for one--or maybe I imagined all this.

OK, I'm back and then I swear I'll crawl back under the rock from whence I came coz I obviously don't know what I'm talking about. Couldn't find anything on Den1 using it in her conditioner. Not sure why I thought of her. I think there might be sth on the website of Distilpure (which I think I learned of from her that does say you can use it, and I somehow got them mixed up). Anyway, here's a thread where someone shared a recipe of MSM in a topical product: http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=17253

And another discussion that talks of adding it to products: http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=118563

I know products from Qhemet Biologics contain MSM so I can't see why it would be so bad to use it in your own products.

Had to edit since you were talking about the pill forms and I still don't see why you can't/shouldn't give it a try.

:yep:

I have used msm in my hair from a recipe I found from Bornastic on You tube. I am not real experienced with hair growth yet as I am still begining my journey. But here are the links to her you tube vids. HTH

I noticed that she used the MSM powder. I guess my question is would this work the same as the capsules?

Thanks for starting this thread, I have some MSM powder I want to use up. It was making me puffy/gain lbs.

I was brushing my teeth with it every now and then to get rid of it. It can be used for whitening.

MSM hasn't put any lbs on me I notice it works well with Silica. I was going to buy some sulfur for an oil mix but hey I will use some MSM (opti) since I have it on hand

Oh, and it isn't Distilpure website that had recipes, :dork: and they were not hair recipes anyway. It was New Horizons MSM Crystal flakes with recipes for gels and creams for skin:

Thanks Nonie - I also noticed that some exczema creams on iHerb use MSM, hence why I asked a similar question today. I suppose if it can be used on skin it can also be used on scalp (also skin).

I am going to give it a try and see how it goes....
