Burnt Hair Smell

Hello Ladies, not sure if this has been addressed before, but can someome please tell me how to eliminate the "burnt hair" smell? I know most are going to say the setting is too high, but most of the time its not and I have thick hair, so my hair laughs at anything under setting 4. I have a maxiglide and when I use that I have to open the windows, I think its just the steam creates that smoke, but sometimes I can still smell it in my hair.

If you smell burnt hair that is usually what it is ..burning hair.

But if you said there is smoke it sounds like it may be the products in your hair and that can fry your hair.....no matter the level of heat ......

Ditto with above. Lower the heat, use a SUPER moisturizing conditioner before using any heat, avoid products with heavy oil before putting on any heat.

The smell could maybe be from the product(s) that are in your hair prior to you using the iron. I have noticed that sometimes if I have sealed my ends and then immediately use the iron, I get that burnt smell. Just a thought...
