There seems to be a lot of folks either stretching their relaxers or transitioning. I thought it would be nice if the people who stretched their relaxers or have transitioned this year to list the products & tools that helped them

Hi! I'll give it a shot but I'll put the disclaimer :this is what works for My hair.

Stretcher or Transitioner?
So far, I want to transition. I'm almost 6 months post after texlaxing and bone-laxing.

Best Shampoo?
to really clean/clarify -ORS Uplifting shampoo
other: Tresemme for dry and colored hair (black and green)

Best Conditioner?
Tresemme moisturising conditioner (white and blue) (less expensive)
NTM (Neutrogena triple moisture) conditioner
Roux Porosity control (I miss this stuff)
Aphogee 2 minute treatment (smells like coconut, gives protein)


Best Deep Conditioner?
ORS Mayonnaise
homemade mix of oils
ORS Replenishing Pack (Got the bottle now)

Best Leave-In?
NTM

Best way to dry hair?
Airdry (for health) or blow-dry.

Best way to deal with roots?
Spritz water on it. or a mix of water and essential oil.
for edges, I got for my trusty aloe vera gel.

Best Hair-Dryer?
Probably a pibbs but I never tried. I have a Hot and gold right now but I rarely use it.Best heat protectant?
Chi silk infusion. I use keratin mist also before.About to try others like sabino and garnier.

Best Blow-Dryer?
erm... I use a sedu. I did not check the other ones. but technique also helps A LOT.

Tried chi and sedu. LOOOOOve my sedu. Heat control is a must.

Best Oil?
Coconut, castor, all essential oils (peppermint, eucalyptus, rosemary, tea tree,.... but experiment. so far, I'm a peppermint/eucalyptus girl.

Best comb(s)?
K-cutter knock off. It's awesome. gotta get at least 2 more. I lost mine...

Best brush(es)?
Don't know yet.I have trouble with finding a good one. I'm truly afraid of the denman but I might try it one day.

I also need to add that my steamer is one of the best things that happend to me during my stretch.
I like to mention that I used the Crown and Glory technique so I rarely had to deal with the new growth. My edges have filled in and my hair is mega thick! I will be self relaxing this Saturday.

Best Leave-In? I use my Dove Conditioner, works WONDERS.
Best way to dry hair? pat-dry then airdry in plaits
Best way to deal with roots? Leave them alone as much as possible! I only comb thru them 1x per week or every 2 weeks.
Best Hair-Dryer? I've only used my own, a Lava, its not the best though i'd love to get a new one.
Best heat protectant? I dont know, i use Tresemme, IC or CON Thermal Booster.
Best Blow-Dryer? Hot n Hotter is what i have.
Best Flat Iron? Same Hot n Hotter but i want to try a Maxiglide.
Best Oil? EVOO.
Best comb(s)? Shower Comb.

why is the steamer one of the best things that happened to you during your stretch Southern Stunner?????

It infused my hair with moisture and I was able to detangle much easier which preserved the line of demarcation. I have not experienced any breakage

Best way to deal with roots? Do everything in sectioned twists/plats. I cowash in sections, wash in sections, detangle in sections, etc. I always finger detangle first, detangle with a wide tooth comb, then a smaller toothed comb then last my denman. This rids my hair of any shedded hair that may linger and detangle it's self around other hairs causing it to loc up.
Best Hair-Dryer? I don't use one. I use a heat cap, but I do have a Gold N Hot one
Best heat protectant? I use Fantasia Polishing Serum (red bottle), V05 Mist Spray and a Chi Silk Infusion when I straighten

Yes I do, that's why I started using it now that the weather is cooling down and I really just use it on my ends, I am still getting used to it, But I really find the castor oil to be really heavy. Given a option of only one I would pick my beloved Coconut oil.
