Aug 23 24 25 26 What Are Your Weekend Hair Plans?

Change of plans! I ended up dying my hair jet black and doing a light tension blow dry. I became so nervous that my hair was ruined in the process when touching it in the shower after rinsing out the color and using the box conditioner. It felt wiry when my hair usually feels like soft fluff!
It seems to have come back from the grave after doing a quick shampoo and dc. I then lightly blow dried it because I figured it could help set the color so it wouldn't stain everything that I touch. I don't plan to color my hair again until December.
I couldn't find my comb so I was forced to finger detangle through the whole process. Surprisingly, I didn't have any issues with tangling or breakage and my hair pretty much stayed detangled through the whole process.

SATURDAY
Hair Dye
- Take down twists and finger-detangle
- Dye hair with Olia 1.0 Jet Black (3 boxes)
- Massage scalp and rinse until water runs clear
- Use conditioner that came with boxes

- Shampoo with Nizoral shampoo
- Condition with Shea Moisture 10 n 1 Deep Masque
- Apply coconut oil to damp hair and tension blow dry on low heat/high speed until hair is about 10% damp
- Twist hair into 12 large twists to air dry
Style
- Moisturize and seal with Camille Rose Curl Love Moisture Milk and shea butter
- Put hair in twists for cocoon curls

Sitting under the dryer with my Aphogee Protein Treatment right now. I noticed some breakage that needs to be handled STAT.
A moisture packed DC needs to follow but I'm not sure what's in the stash. I'll be back to edit for product usage.

DC: Shea Moisture Sugarcane extract +
Leavein: Mielle Hawaiian Ginger
Styler: Mielle Hawaiian Ginger
I already am not feeling the big fluffy fro I know I'm gonna get that and the one day hair. But it's a beautiful Sunday and I have lots to do outdoors...a fluffy fro is what its gonna be!

Currently pre-pooing with a mixture of Aloe Vera powder and Giovanni Tea Tree conditioner.

My plan:

Shampoo- Sirod Naturals Soapnut
RO- Curl Dynasty Give Me Slip
Protein- Mizani Kerafuse
DC- SSI MARUMALLOW
Style- TBD

The humidity is frustrating me. My tried and true products are no longer combating the frizz. It’s so bad, I can’t wear my hair curly in any capacity. If I bun my hair, it must be blown dry, then gelled down (hair is less frizzy this way and it combats tangles).

I’m contemplating getting a DIY BKT.

I played around with a little heat last weekend, so I'm ready to use this AM to give my hair some much needed TLC.

Last Night
Pre-Poo:
Olaplex No. 3 (overnight w/ plastic cap)

Today
Cleanser:
ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo
Protein Treatment: Joico K-PAK Deep-Penetrating Reconstructor
Rinse-Out Condish: Aussie Mega Moist Conditioner
D/C: Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm (plan on letting this sit w/ a plastic cap for a little over 2hrs)

As for M/S and styling, I'm debating on whether or not to heavy seal again this week. It works wonders for my moisture retention, but oh my god... trying to fully clarify before my flat iron last week was just... it was an experience LOL. But I might give it a go again with a much lighter hand, so if I do, the plan is --

(L)iquid: VO5 Moisture Milks/Hada Labo Premium/Distilled water mix (*might just try only the Hada Labo/H2O this time since I think leaving the VO5 in might be causing some extra shedding)
(C)ream: Mielle Organics Pomegranate & Honey LI
(O)il: EVOO
Heavy Sealant: Blue Magic
Hope all of you ladies are having/had a great weekend! :love3:

* EDIT: I used the Aussie rinse-out conditioner after the D/C just to soften my hair a bit after rinsing and ended up using S-Curl for the liquid L/I since I didn't feel like cleaning out my spray bottle. My hair's not complaining though. ~

Are you saying the new Mielle is a no go?

I washed my hair tonight a bit earlier than planned, but I don’t mind.

I volunteered to do night stocking tonight, and they had ya girl sweating something fierce.

So I also took it upon myself to detangle because I noticed a lot of shed hairs weren’t able to come out and I wanted to get them out before they turned into really bad knots or tangles.

Since I hadn’t used a comb or brush in my hair since June, I figured I would see a lot more shed hairs coming out versus my hands, but my goodness. I realized it’s also shedding season now for me, so I was just staring at the drain in a bit of a panic because there was quite a bit of shedding. But my hair still felt and looked like normal.

Wash: Self mixed black charcoal, soap nuts, and Cedarwood extract shampoo

Condition: Aussie moist (detangled)

Leave ins: Hydrolyzed Elastin Protein, mixed in with Texture ID deep treatment mask.

Link for elastin protein here: https://www.makingcosmetics.com/Elastin-Protein-Hydrolyzed_p_1105.html

Sealed with Almond Oil. Up in 6 braids, tucked under a satin scarf and my beanie. Not taking my hat off until next weekend at work.

It's a complete no for me. I'm gonna give the Leavein a chance to act right under some Eco Styler this morning but that gel cant do nothing for my hair. I dont even think it could do a good job laying my unruly edges. It IS super moisturizing but it gave me zero definition. ...might work better as a moisturizer under my Styler. I'll give it another try next weekend.

I sure hate a gel with no hold.

Ok I am going to have to find a way to tolerate the Fenugeek because it did a great job. I used a new gel that I have a sample ofo is was fermented rice and aloe vera, it is so soft and defined. I am going to try to make another batch og flax seed gel (I was too lazy yesterday) for the rest of the week.

Haven't picked a cream or butter yet.

My hair is SO soft and has a nice sheen after blowdrying yesterday. I don't know which product caused this but it's wonderful!
