Follow the drip Pic heavy it is Sunday LOL

#fakeworkouts
I have left the natural side. I do Zumba daily sometimes twice a day and the rinsing and detangling just became too much. My puff would be dripping. I was seriously at the point of shaving my head or poison chemicals. I chose the chemicals, I mean I can always shave my head (when I'm slimmer I refuse to be fat and bald  )

The stylist cut my hair without my permission and it was curly so I know it is uneven I will post pics when I straighten it. I still want to make it to waist length. Not sure if this will help or hurt because my hair hates chemicals I hope I don't end up looking like Patches.

She washed it b4 she did the Wave Nouveau. I had her cut the WN with Mizani Conditioner. My hair didn't get as straight as it would have been without but its ok because I wanted to proceed with caution. I need to go buy some Snap back cause I didn't buy any product specifically for curly I have just been using my African Pride braid sheen it is water and glycerine like the Jheri Juice products. My last pic is dry hair no product.

Looks pretty. Check out BHM they have one really good thread about curl care. Did she do the WN while your hair was tangled?

You are losing that weight girl! Congrats. Your curl looks nice too, but why not texlax? Is WN a more gentle process?

it looks very nice op....you may not have to use the juice, lol. as long as a product has glycerin towards the top ingredients you maybe able to get away with it. you have lots of shrinkage i see, girlie! i guess like a relaxer you'll have to stay on top of moisture and protein. how often will you have to retouch?

It was not completely detangled when she did the process

I'm down about 30lbs :woot: :woot: :bdance: WN has a lower ph then texlax and I tried to texlax 2xs in the past and never got the curls that I wanted.

Thank you. I will probably only get the snap back from Luster's other than that I have a spray that has everything good in it except mucopolysaccarides I'll be at the pet store trying to find some of that. MPS was the main ingredient in my beloved Surge. Between the generic spray and the African pride braid sheen I'm good. I also do leave in conditioner because I rinse every few days as needed.

I will probably only retouch 3-4xs per year.

I'm glad to see curls are coming back as an option. Black people's hair did really well with curl regimens.

OP your hair looks cute. I've spent hours with curl formers to get a look that only lasted3 days max.

This can be straighten? Ohhh man see. I'm gonna have to big chop for this. You can't put this over a relaxer? I like to wear my hair curly as much as I like it straight. This would be an option if I could straighten it. I would have to make full WL before I could big chop. Just to say I did it again.

leona2025 I have heard you have to be natural to get it, but I have also heard of folk who didn't mind the "fallout" chance it get it done and have pretty good results.

It can be straightened. Although I have no desire to put heat on my head because I am heavy into this fitness thing and I want to get my stomach done by years end. Straightening at this point would be a waste of time.

I got on her nerves big time but it is my hair and I wanted it done my way. She almost had a fit at the end when I told her to roll it up and down instead of sideways I didn't want not curled under granny curls I wanted spirals.

Puts on black loc shades and plays Ice Cube and Easy-E rap videos from the late 80's early 90's

So it's a wave nouvea? I'm intrigued. I need to leave my hair alone seriously.
But I do hope this helps make your exercise life easier, I HATE the fear of sweating because of my hair. I want to be free!

OP~I love the beach wave effect once it dried. I had WN way back in the day( I was like 11 or 12)and I remember the waves I had. I also had a Jherri Curl before that and I loved how the WN was not as greasy as the JC. I hope it works out for you:yep:

Very pretty. So about being able to straighten, I didn't know you could do that with a curly perm.

You can straighten it but I wouldn't use it on full heat like I would my natural hair. Worst case scenario you have to go back in to get it re-rodded. I usually straighten my hair in Dec for my birthday/trim. I'll post the after effects.

Op your hair looks really pretty with your Wave Nouveau. Hope this works out better for you with your work out schedule.

Secretly I have always wanted a WN. I love the fact that you can wear it curly or straight. I thought about it when I went natural. Your hair looks gorgeous. I'm still try to figure out how she put the rods in the back

The back is stacked like this [[[[[[[[[[[[ in 3 rows

How will you addres your new growth?

I will just basically just keep it moisturized and will probably try roller sets.

I didn't even know you were natural, congrats on the weight loss!

Thank you :cycle: I think the last time I went natural was in 2008 or 2009

I am confused. Did you get a Jheri curl? It looks nice. Can you wear it straight? Was it expensive?

Pretty much I did get a jheri curl only it is called a wave nouveau. You are supposed to use the juices but I don't want to walk around smelling like a curl so I'm not using the specific products. I'm mostly a braid sheen and leave in conditioner girl.
