REAL AFRO MANNEQUIN SUGGESTIONS?

Any suggestion is appreciated.
I've looked on amazon and sally's but EVERY SINGLE ONE mostly says the hair ISN'T afro textured but wavy. I want it because we want to have a daughter within the next 5 years and I want to know how to part straight and braid fast. Ya know do cute styles for little girls.
So I'm looking for thick afro haired Mannequin with 4a or higher.
I don't want to practice on my own hair too much so I figured a Mannequin would be good.

You are not going to find one. I tried finding one for my dd and the only one I could find was wavy hair. When I first purchased it, the hair was a lot kinkier. I think they just tease it a bit to give the illusion of kink. As soon as I washed it and sprayed some vinegar on it to rid the hair of whatever chemical they put on it the hair was wavy once dried, needless to say I was pissed. It works well though because most of us are doing braids and whatnot on fairly stretched hair.

Their little hands would not be able to work with much kinkier hair and my daughter still struggles with braiding so I think this was okay.

There is a decent amount of hair on the head as well. Just dont comb or brush too hard or else it will shed a too much.

This is about the closest I've been able to find. I have my doubts as to whether or not you'd be able to find one with real 4a, 4b hair, but this might be good enough to practice on. I found it on ebay.

Check with some braiding salons in your area they might be able to help you find one. Or you could goggle hair braiding classes/seminars and see if they will disclose where they buy their mannikins. I know they use to offer classes at the city college in my area.
Good Luck!!

I know that this probably wont be a good idea, but have you considered making your own? The ladies on BHM in the lacefront section have threads about making their Chinese Remi or Indian Remi wigs Kinky curly by using curly perms on the hair. You could purchase a regular old coarse haired mannequin and then texture the hair yourself. If they can do it.....http://expatjane.blogspot.com/2007/07/afro-braid-and-dread-wearing-koreans-i.html I think look for Afro perm? YT has tons of videos.

Mannequin*

Some brands actually use the spelling "Manikin." I have NO idea why...:ohwell:

And yeah OP, I've been looking for one for months. Can't find one with real 4a/b hair. I have to harass my natural classmates to let me play in their hair. lol!

omg sorry about the spelling I saw it on so many of them...

lol *pictures people asking to play in each others hair* lol I remember that in grade school... I'd come home with a different style every time I got my hair done
