Same ole boring '08 routine's gonna carry me through '09.

Poo:
Something moisturizing, occasional clarifying poo, occasional no poo/lo poo in the summer.

Conditioner:
Something moisturizing, AO HSR, Lustrasilk cholesterol, Aphogee 2 step as needed, Vo5 for cowash, an Herbal Essence con.

Leave-in conditioner: Elucence MB (or Vo5) mixed with water and used as a spritz. Jojoba or Wonder 8 on the ends as needed.

Poo once every 7-10 days, more in summer.

Condition after every poo. Deep condition after every poo.

Detangle after every poo, sometimes before if there's alot of tangling. No combing/brushing dry hair.

Variety of styles, occasional rollerset or a flatiron but definitely low/no heat/low manipulation, some twists and lots of braid/twist outs.

Those are the basics in my KISS regimen. It got me this far and hope it'll get me to WL in '09.

My reggie is going to stay the same
Co wash daily
Shampoo weekly
DC overnight 2-3 times a week.
I may change may reggie after I meet my goal.

**SaSSy**

3rd Big Chop on 7/18/2016
The same things I been doing since July 26, 2008:

Shampooing 2x a week with either Trader Joe's nourish spa, or Aveda Dry Remedy. 2x a month using Aveda detoxic shampoo

Deep Conditioned/pre-poo with Trader Joe's mourish spa, AG Honeysuckle Rose, or Lustraslick shea butter cholesterol 2 to 3 times a week, and after every wash.

Mega-tek until my hair gets to BSL 3x a week

Wet bunning everyday unless special occasion, and moisturizing 2x a day with multiple things and sealing with oils, then putting my ends in a baggie until I get to BSL.

Relaxing a min. of every 10 weeks.

I think I'm going to prohibit myself from doing wash-n-go's/shrunken fro's and fake hair in 2009.

Every 3-7 days:
Oil treatment with coconut and castor oil on damp hair.
Rinse w/water.
Bantu Knot with shea butter on damp hair. Detangle while styling.
Wear bantu knot out (curly fro, pinned up, etc.) for 3-7 days. Moisturize if my hair feels dry, either shea butter, castor, or coconut oil.
Repeat.

When I feel like it...wash with baking soda/water mix.

Eta: I think I'll just be doing twists because it'll keep my ends better protected. Since I can't find shea butter locally I won't be using it. I'm also thinking of adding aloe vera gel to my regimen. Decisions decisions.

Black and Magical
My regimen will be as follows:

Shampoo 1x a week (still looking for a staple shampoo)

Co-wash 2-3x a week with the goodies I just bought

Megatek mixture on my scalp every other night

Deep Condition 2-3x a week with Pantene Time Renewal Replenishing Mask or Keracare Humecto (when I get some money for the tub)

Moisturize every night before bed and seal my ends

Wear a bun until spring and then do braidouts/twistouts for spring/summer

Relax every 10-12 weeks with ORS Olive Oil Relaxer
  • I've been using the no-lye version of this relaxer, but I'm going to try the lye version and see if there is a difference. I hear that lye is more moisturizing than no-lye and if my scalp isn't sensitive to it, then I will continue to use the lye version.

Only dusting when I feel like it's necessary

I'm going to try not to comb my hair. I have severe HIH syndrome so I don't know how that's going to work out. lol

Shampoo: Biolage or Vatiman
Conditioners: Serlerm or Nexxus Humectress mixed with honey and any oil below
Leave In Conditioner: Serlerm or Carols Daughter Hair Milk
Oils: Jojoba, Coconut, Almond, Amla, and Shea Butter (I melt it before I apply it).

Although I have been washing weekly, I have decided to wash biweekly from now on.
However, I will still continue dc every week.
For my DC, I mix conditioner with honey and an oil. I put a lot in my hair. I kind of apply my dc like a perm. I place i plastic cap on my hair and let it set for about 2 hours.
After, I oil my scalp with jojoba oil and I use coconut oil on my ends. I reapply the jojoba oil to my scalp every other day because my scalp eats oils.
Then, I braid my hair in straight back corn rolls because I am hiding my hair for the winter. I spruce up the appearance by wearing fashion scarfs.

Live, Laugh, Love
Once a week I will dc with lustrasilk's shea butter cholesterol, co-wash with GVP's conditioning balm, then air-dry with a lil of the GVP balm used as a leave-in. I'll continue to use Elasta QP's Recovery oil moisturizer as my daily moisturizer.

I will relax every 4 months and wear my hair however I choose, sometimes down, sometimes up, just depends on my mood.
