**~** Stick To The Reggies Challenge 2012 **~**

I'd like to join. I have a habit of doing different things, so I'm joining for the first 3 months.

The products may rotate, because as my hair goes through my relaxer stretch I have to adjust the products:

-what is your current reggie?
1. Wash 1x/week, prepooing if necessary. I alternate shampoos. One week I use CON Rosemary and Chamomille, the next week I use Keracare Hydrating Detangling. I also Clarify if necessary.
2. DC also alternates. 1 week, Elasta QP DPR 11, the next, CON Intensive Moisture Treatment w/Argan Oil, I also add EVOO to both. I leave it on for as long as I can stand it.
3. I use a rinse out conditioner, usually Humecto by Keracare.
4. Leave in conditioners: Chi Keratin Mist, Jane Carter Leave In, or Elasta QP H2. I always follow up with Lacio Lacio
5. Prep for styling, Aveda Hang Straight and Chi Silk Infusion
6. Blow dry
7. Flat iron with additional serum.
8. Relax every 10-12 weeks
9. Moisturize 2x a day with Elasta QP Mango Butter, seal with Isoplus Coconut and Ylang Ylang
10. Protective style when I can, usually looking to protect the front 1/2 of my hair which grows slower.

I am trying to see what happens when I blow dry/flat iron weekly. My hair is still growing out from a pixie cut, and its cold here, so no air drying right now. So far so good.

-what is your biggest hair issue? (breakage, SSK's, shedding?)
1. My hair doesn't usually shed or break too much, and I'm relaxed so no ssk's. But my hair naturally grows slower in the front half of my head. So I'm keeping my hair tapered(inverted) in the back, until my front is where I want it to be. My hair grows super fast in the back, so right now it is an inverted bob.
-are you going for length or health or both?

I'm always going for health. I'm not really trying to grow out my hair super long, but if I decide to do that, I will. I am also in the SL challenge, so hopefully this helps! I have always been one to switch up my reggie a lot.

I think I want to join this...ill post regimen and answer questions when i get back on the computer

Answer these questions:
-what is your current reggie?

i wear my hair in twists or braids (with my natural hair). i re-do my style every 3 or 4 weeks and that process includes the takedown (which may include some aloe vera juice to loosen tangles in some spots), detangling with my fingers in sections in the shower, a bentonite clay treatment, a DC (aubrey organics conditioners under saran wrap with heat) and an oil rinse (usually castor oil, red palm oil, sunflower oil mixed together). i recently started spraying my hair with diluted hydrolyzed keratin and i'll keep doing that once or twice a week (i leave it in). i baggy under saran wrap (3 to 5 nights a week...depending on my mood, but i joined the baggy challenge and will commit to 5 days). i usually dc every 3-4 days (sometimes i may dc one day and just condition rinse the next time instead of 2 dc's a week)

-what is your biggest hair issue? (breakage, SSK's, shedding?)

hmmm well, the biggest issues were breakage and moisture loss, but i think relieved that issue...but i do tend to get SSKs and i end up pulling more of my hair out than i want to trying to get them out!

-are you going for length or health or both?

im going for both. health will bring length!

It's going well... I'm cool on shampoo, Shea butter, vo5, evoo and evco, I just have to get a few more deep conditioner bottles, I also got a length check shirt and microfiber towels on ebay I love them... I'll be in braids under wig and redo bi-weekly.

youwillrise, your all signed up!!!

so one change to my reggie before the new year... im going to be PSing for the majority of the year so I will be getting my hair braided once a month by the africans near my house. But i will still be doing the regular sealing and conditioning and all that good stuff, its just my hair will be in braids.

and ive changed my mind again, i will not be getting my hair braided, my scalp just doesnt like it. Ive only had braids in my hair a ouple of days and though my wig is nice and flat i wanna be able to wash my whole head of hair.

I have a Reggie confession I have tweaked my deep conditioner recipe I added humectress to the recipe and my hair was sooo soft

Peace and blessing from my iPhone using LHCF

2 more days and it will be 2012!!!!!! im so freaking excited!!!

@SunySydeofLyfe did you get the weave?

indarican I hope you keep this up cause I am going to need constant reminders !! I havent, I told my mom I needed her to braid my hair but have been on the couch all day!!! Anywho, I am getting it together.

My plan for this weave will be simple. Although I am going to check in at the 4 month mark, that way I would have had 2 weaves for 8 weeks each.

Sunday:
-Shampoo and DC 1x per week (creme of nature old version diluted with water and nexxus humectress)

Wednesday:
-Steam with on hand DC

Daily:
-sulphur mix to scalp nightly (I am experimenting with mixing sulphur power in warmed braid spray (bottle set in hot water) to see if it dissolves better)
-Apply braid spray 2x daily

Wear weave for 2 months and redo.
Texlax maybe in 6 months.

That is all! I am packing up all my PJ products and leaving them in the garage and focus on just using the above items for 2 months and evaluate.

Lets get it in!! LONG HAIR!!! LONG HAIR!!! LONG HAIR!!!!

So I got my baggy on my head and have moisturizer and sealed my hair this morning. I will be cowashing tonight and GHE tonight

That sounds really good... I've been baggying for a few days and really think it will give me some growth. I didn't plan on it but I think it'll work into my reggie.

Hi guys. So I was sick most of last week and new years kinds threw me off too, but I'm back on track.

Gonna wash and Dc today/tonight. I'm really digging the all natural thing. Just dcing with pure coconut oil after hennaing really brought my hair back to soft! And I'm a 4a/b mix by the by. I'm also hiding my hair with updos and head wraps. 2012 is the year I try to overcome the pj's in me...it's already hard y'all!!! But I'm determined to stick this out.

I am so in!!!!!

-what is your current reggie? I dont really have one. I am trying to finish up products some starting off I will be finishing up my sample of WEN. I will use my Giovanni direct leave-in, and seal with a olive oil mix.

-what is your biggest hair issue? ME, I need to care for it on at least weekly.

-are you going for length or health or both? Both

Giggletush i know what you mean about the PJism... I swear i have to rush past the BSS so i am not tempted to go in.
In fact i think ima order my next wig off line because i dont want to tempt myself buy going into a BSS to get a new one.
This is a very serious addiction...lol

Doing well...I did add a moisturizing process (deep moisture method) that's been working well for me so far (no new products, just the method). Still doing everything else pretty much the same! I haven't tried a new product in quite a while. I've been good for months!

Great thread/challenge ladies count me in!

-what is your current reggie?
I plan to keep it simple by following a variation of the bohemian routine shared/created by JazziJenni's some years back and poo 1-2 times a week, apply leave in, and seal with oil.

-what is your biggest hair issue? (breakage, SSK's, shedding)
trying to get a handle on my seborrheic dermatitis

-are you going for length or health or both?
both

HHG to all of you ladies!

what is your current reggie? shampoo (kercare hydrating) once a week and cowash (suave coconut)once a week.
deep condition 2x a week with keracare Humecto 15-30mins under the dryer
light protein with Aphogee as needed or Aphogee 2 step every 6 weeks
clarify once a month (keracare 1st lather)
leave-in with Keracare leave-in
roller set with Fantasia IC serum and Keracare wrap foam lotion
moisturize with Mizani Coconut Souffle and Seal with Keracare essential oil
oil sheen with Kercare
keep my hair up in the back with a clip or hair stick thingy. sleep on a satin pillow case. wear a satin scarf if it is cold out.

relax every 8-12 weeks depending on how my hair behaves with Mizani Butter Blend system

-what is your biggest hair issue? (breakage, SSK's, shedding?) snagging my hair and over moisturizing, and product overload. not staying consistent with reggie. i don't have a lot of breakage, but i would like my hair to thicken up more, so i am going to try my best to stretch. i got major breakage from detangling issues as a natural, so i am paying for it now as a relaxed head.

-are you going for length or health or both? i was so focused on length, finding the right products, and detangling issues last year. now i am going to focus on health and retention. i guess length will come with good practices. i just need to stay focused and not do so much to my hair.

youwillrise I really wanted to dry the deep moisture method, But it didnt work for me. i just cant figure it out. Braiding my hair wet is not working for me at all... Maybe im not detangling enough... I dont know but everytime i try there is so much breakage.

So I got a major trim for NYE I went from BSL to an inch above it so right now I have been being gentle with my ends so hopefully I can regain BSL and keep my splits under control. I have added alot of braidouts to my reggie so that I wont use heat alot but it has caused me to have to be very conscious of my ends in the process. I also added Castor oil to my reggie and I am in love! Where has this been all my life?! I am on week 9 of my stretch and it works great to keep my hair moisturized without weighing it down. I also added One and Only Argan Oil Mosture Shampoo, Conditioner, and Restoration mask so umm yea the PJ bug hit me but in a good way!

indarican I am so sorry i had forgotten i joined this challenge but i have been sticking to my reggie! Not dropped off at all. I won't be stranger to this thread anymore - i promise.

As you may or may not have noticed on another thread i found me a wig so i can protective style lot more AND look decent!

And yes, the PJ in me is coming out (have been eyeing some yummy looking dominican conditioners) but on the plus side i have used up 2 bottles of half used conditioner in the past week (on me and my dd) because of my increased washes and my saturating my hair in condish whilst detangling.

And.....my HS Star Combs were delivered today so i'm actually looking forward to detangling!

Well , I have been watching my hair after a failed wen cleansing attempt. Im keeping it moisturized and wash day is Friday. So I will try the WEN once more and if it doesn't work then back to my CON poo and condish. WEN was a gift that i had to try and was thinking about putting it in my reggie. But we will see.....

i already know the first thing im going to change when i get past these first three months... i need some real shampoo in my life this baking soda just aint cutting it.

@NewHairWOWeave awww it didnt work, what was the problem?

I tried it last night and I see that I have to get the right balance of water into the hair for the foam to start. I liked it a little more this time. my hair did feel stronger. I thought it felt a little hard, but I will clarify before my next wash with my WEN Sweet Almond Mint.
