I'm in the market for a blow dryer. I've never really liked any of the blow dryer I've used. Wondering if a blow dryer like this exists-

hand held with a denman or paddle brush like head that somehow doesnt rip out my hair. blow dryers ive tried with simple comb attachments just havent done it for me. is there someplace i can get something like this?

yep it exists - its called a hot air brush. Most of the ones I know of have round brushes but there was a thread somewhere on this forum where someone had one with different brushes.

I'm also in the market for a blow dryer but it seems a hot air brush/comb might be what I need. Can anyone recommend one that's Ceramic/Ionic/Tourmaline with a brush attachment that is LHCF approved?

i gave up on attachments. i justs cannot for the life of me get my hair straight without ripping so much air out. the tention method coupled with a 2000 watt blowdryer is the only way i will bother to blow out my hair these days.

What dont you like about it.

i didnt like the attachments. the comb attachment was inadequate and didnt really help in the straightening process and the "brush" attachment was some scary stuff. i dont know who they intended to brush their hair with that, but it wasnt me. it would have ripped out all my hair if i used the brush attachment.

so what are the good hot combs

The one I use doesn't have a rotating brush and it works well for me - the only down side is that it doesn't have variable heat settings so it just gives off warm air - but that works well for me cause I'm tenderheaded. FYI - I have fine hair hair and I only use the brush with the stiff plastic bristles. Amazon.com: Conair BM20XBC 2-in-1 Hot Air Styling Brush: Beauty

I haven't found a lot of references to them in this forum but I've added the links below for what I have found

I just bought the Hot Tools Ionic Hot Air Brush and me luvs it! I was scared of the brush at first too but it didn't rip my hair out. The only hair that came out in the brush were shed hairs. In conjunction with the products that I used before using it, Bee Mine Deja's Hair Milk and grapeseed oil, my hair was a soft and pretty blow out, Claire Huxtable style. From there I style my hair however I choose. I'm so glad I purchased one. I like it way better than a traditional blow dryer. :D
