Hey everyone..if you have the Japanese hair straightening/Thermal Reconditioning Treatment for you hair, please share your hair care routine.

Here is my current routine:

Hairtype: 3c and 4a mix.

1. My hair seldom gets greasy so I only wash it once a week.
2. On wash-days, I shampoo and condition my hair. After using a "normal" conditioner, I use a deep conditioning treatment and de-tangle. I then leave it on for an hour with a plastic cap.
3. I then rinse it out with cold water.
4. Next, I apply Olaplex No.3 on my hair, focusing on the ends of my hair. The ends of my hair are bleached so I baby my ends as it is very fragile due to being bleached.
5. I then spray my moisturizing product, then coat it with oil and following up with a cream product, aka LOC method.
6. I then let my hair air dry, and spray my hair with the moisturizing product again. (for some reason, this makes a HUGE difference for my hair compared to not spraying after LOC method.)

I didnt mention any products (besides the Olaplex) since I switch it up a lot and sometimes use DIY.

With this routine, I was able to eliminate my breakage problem and saw less shedding.

What do you guys do to help breakage and to retain length when your hair is chemically treated?

Hey! I have thermal reconditioned hair as well. I wash my hair about 2x a week. I use the Mane Choice 3-in-1 leave in, then I use the Mane Choice Ancient Egyptian oil, then I use the Mane Choice I can't believe it's not butter. This usually leaves my hair really soft. Mane choice has a split end protector I like to use on my ends. I also try to protective style more often as more new growth comes in.

Hi! Can you please tell me your hair type? Also, how long do you go between treatments? And is the difference between your treated length and the new growth harder to deal with versus relaxers or not?

Hi :). My hair type is 4b and I usually get my hair treated 2x a year. My hair is usually ok up to 5 months between treatments. I feel like it's actually easier to handle the two different textures with this than with relaxers. When I was relaxed, I couldn't stretch more than 2 months. It seemed like all my hair would get super tangled, even the relaxed part. If I hold out for 7mths then my hair starts acting up though lol. I retain length a lot better and have been to reach MBL in the back but I'm still BSL in the front.

I've been considering this for years now. How does thermally reconditioned hair differ from relaxed hair? Does it do away with frizz? How is the texture after it's washed?
Relaxing has been a failure for me as it doesn't get rid of my curl or the frizz and it causes damage.

The biggest difference is that thermal reconditioning isnt as damaging as relaxing your hair and it literally transforms your curls into straight hair no matter how many times you wash it. It doesnt curl back ever.

Frizz is eliminated. Im not sure what you mean by texture really but its bone straight even after washing.

Really?? I can't picture this . I will have to try it eventually.
How often do you get it touched up?
