Key Verse: Zechariah 13:9

The process of refining metals is used in the Bible as a metaphor of
spiritual purification. In a sense, if you have something made of pure gold or
pure silver, it is made of the leftovers. Refining is a process by which
everything else is removed and only the pure metal remains. It is accomplished
through firing, putting the metal over the fire until it is a liquid from which
can be drawn all the dross.

Our lives are not pure gold by any means. God's desire is that we be holy as
He is holy. That means there are things that need to be removed from our lives.
It also means that He will assist in that process!

God's intent is not to destroy us but to purify us. Sometimes His method is
akin to the intense heat of the refiner's fire. Our response to the process is
crucial. We can either allow Him to work in our lives, cooperating in removing
that which is impure, or we can resist or rebel.

To His people, God sent the message through the prophet Zechariah that He
would "refine them like silver and test them like gold" (13:9). That is painful,
but look at the promise: "They will call on my name and I will answer them; I
will say, 'They are my people,' and they will say, 'The LORD is our God.'" The
blessing will be ours.

Don't resist or rebel against God's refining fire. Learn from the tough
times. Look for the ways in which God is using your difficulties to refine
you.

this is such a on time message :yep:. Alot of people think if you are in God, you suppose to go through nothing, but we have to be tried. he said in his word he chooses his servant out the furnance of affliction...that means we must be afflicted!!! But we have to remember that everything works together for our good. Even when we are buffeted for our own fault! That still works for our good. But thanks be to God that he said the suffering of this present time isnt even worthy to be compared to the glory to come!!! :yay:. Thats what I hold to, to keep me going. Revelation said the devil has come to wear the patience of the saints out. He is coming to overthrow us, but God said we shall be preserved until the coming of Jesus Christ1!:woohoo:....

I was one of those people ...I didn't want to be made 'uncomfortable' or experience any kind of lack in any area of my life...I'm not talking about the things that we cause on ourselves like running ourselves into the debt, or making a bad choices/decisions because we didn't consult HIM first etc.,

My prayer:

Lord I submit under your mighty hand knowing that you will never put more on me than I can bare. The the testing and trials are for my ultimate good. This is the less of me and more of you that I desire which comes with sacrifice, this flesh must die so that I can live.

Thank you for being a God who is near and not afar off, thank you that in the end I will see you as you are because I will be like you, I recognize that I can't be like you if I don't go through like you did, ...Thank you for never leaving me or forsaking me, thank you that the sufferings of this present time can not compare to the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Thats so true, when God has me out of my "comfort zone", thats when I seen the power and glory of God like never before. Thats where God has me now. Im at point that I dont "see" anything, but I remember the scripture that says " the just shall walk by faith not by sight". But sometimes weariness tries to come but I remember "be not weary in well doing, if you faint not , in due season you shall reap." I lean on His word for strength, its more than just words on a page, but its been my keeper and my shield. The battle that comes between my flesh and the Spirit of God, is a battle that happens daily, but thats why Paul said, He bring his body into subjection daily....I thank God for not only what He has done, but for what He is going to do. He's my hope. The bible says, though the outward man perishes, the inward man is renewed day renewed.
