Don't sleep on hibiscus oil. It has my hair feeling right!!!

So I just recieved my pound of hibiscus powder from Herbco.com and I had no idea what to do with it. So I got online and found out how to make hibiscus oil for the hair.

So I put the hibiscus oil (basically coconut oil boiled and hibiscus powder added) on my hair and I'm a bit doubtful because my hair hates straight oil. I put a plastic cap on and take a quick 30 minute nap. When I woke up my scalp was feeling nice and extra warm:lick:. I step in the shower to rinse it out and OH MY GOODNESS!!! I'm in heaven:grin:. For the first time in a very long time, since I've been natural, I can reach my fingers to the middle of my hair with out parting it. I felt like I was in one of those old herbal essence commercials and having a hairgasm:blush:. After the oil was rinsed out I co washed with my OCT, which I didn't have to use as much as usual because the conditioner just slipped onto my hair. I pat dried my hair and applied my homemade moisturizer (with hibiscus powder in it of course) and put coconut oil over it to seal.

My hair is air drying now and I feels so good ans soft. My curls are more defined and I have less shrinkage. The real test is tomorrow morning though. If my hair is still moisturized it will be a miracle and this oil will definitely become a staple.

Hibiscus does alot more than just moisturize. There are a lot of benefits internally and externally.

I had the powder instead of the fresh plower so I boiled some coconut oil and but the hibiscus powder in the skillet. I kept moving it around so that it wouldn't burn. After the oil was a dark purple color I let it cool and put it in an empty bottle I had. The powder didn't blend all the way so I have to shake it up when I use it.

I wonder if you could filter this (to remove grit if there is any) and apply it daily instead of rinsing it out...hmm.

I purchased dried hibiscus today. I dumped a few bulbs in a cup, poured in some avocado oil and coconut oil, and warmed it in the microwave for about 30 seconds. My hair does feel noticeably softer. I used it as a pre-poo over my cholesterol conditioner.

Can you use it daily? My nape is always so dry, no matter what I do to it. Guess I'll try it and see.

I blogged about hibiscus the other day. I bought a huge bag of it and used some for cold jamaica and I am going to put some with my henna treatment.
Hibiscus is good for so many things!
