BKT safe product list

^^^Sheba said it was okay. I am thinking of getting some myself. I have the Sally's version Hair One and its definitely okay so I'm sure Wen is too. :yep: You can go to Chaz Dean's web site and look at the ingredients list. As long as it doesn't have "Sodium" anything its okay.

Thank you AtlantaJJ!

Is that chloride a no-no?

I think I read that that chloride was in some way related to salt. But I don't steer clear of anything but the ones mentioned by the BKT professionals; sodium chloride and sodium laurel sulfate.

I know there are others that are more strict, however.

yeah, it might have been me that mentioned that -sodium chloride IS salt on the periodic table of elements (6th grade coming back lol) so if you use NATURAL products, it might be listed as sea salt or smthg - need to stay away from this, just like actual salt water from the beach.

i know i'm bring a thread back to life by digging it up...sorry. but i want to know if you can use ovation cell therapy on a bkt?

I haven't checked the ingredients list on OCT, Diva, but I use megatek in my mix on my scalp. If the ingredients don't include sodium chloride, I say go for it.

.....Bumping.....

Just got my first BKT done (Global Keratin) and would like to hear about any additional product recommendations

Right now I am using:

Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Shampoo
Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner
Sally's GVP Matrix Biolage Conditioning Balm (Deep Conditioner)

I have Giovanni Smooth As Silk Conditioner / Shampoo and may try that too.

I love the BKT. Now that I can't use all my previous products I'm going to have to get rid of all non-BKT compatible shampoos & conditioners now. :(

I just did the treatment last night, will be washing my hair out on Tuesday.

Normally when I do my hair I use mostly Dominican products. Can I use them with the BKT treatment?

Bumping for more products that are safe to use! I just bought Rusk deepshine smooth conditioner as I just did the BKT on sunday! Sad to say Stearalkonium Chloride was listed on their although I thought it was safe to use considering!

Any product that is BKT safe and that I can use for hard water?

I miss using the Redken all soft shampoo but it has sodium laureth sulfate and sodium chloride. Are there any more recommendations for shampoos? I really don't like the Aubrey Organics shampoos- too drying.

Amethyst85 I'm currently using the lemon detox condition wash by naturelle grow. It works well and I like it but would like to find an actual shampoo as well as a backup

I like to shampoo with a mixture of Mill Creek Biotin Shampoo, water and amla oil about once every other week.

My favorite DCs are Sallys GVP Matrix Biolage Conditioning Balm and Elasta QP Intense Fortifying conditioner. I no longer DC in the traditional sense now that I cowash daily. After I shampoo I just mix these two conditioners with coconut oil and massage through my hair. I put my normal daily conditioner (Aussie Sidney Smooth) over top and then wet bun and rinse when I cowash the following day.

Oh!!! I just remembered I just bought some Silicon Mix, Whale Sperm and Lacio Lacio from roundbrushhair.com; as in I haven't even opened the box yet, so any one of these may replace one of my faves. I'll be sure to update this thread if that happens.

I guess I'll list my favorite cowash conditioners, too. Vo5 clarifying conditioner for when my hair starts to feel gunky but I'm not yet ready to shampoo or I'm going to reconstruct with aphogee 2 minute; Tresseme moisture rich conditioner, Vo5 moisture milks are close seconds when I want a moisturizing con cowash.

Man, I just realize how many products I use :spinning: I swear my routine feels really simple. Not nearly as complicated as it sounds. I tell you, since BKT I spend no more than 10 minutes per day on my hair. Um... I spend much much more time than that on LHCF, however.
Thank you for this! I just picked up a bottle of vo5 strawberries and cream conditioner. I’m 3 months post bkt and I need to cowash my hair ASAP
