Help..SIMPLE question for MN Users

Since I was nicely booted out of a progress only thread, I figured I would post my question here. I posted a new one cause like the progress only thread, the original was getting a lil long for me to sort through.

I received one answer, thanks Honeydew! I wanted to do my own experiment with this ever so popular MN and just needed to know, how often are you applying MN cause the lil tube I bought looks like it only contains 2-3 applications for $5. So I figured I must be looking into applying this too often or you ladies have a secret place to buy it or have found a larger tube.

I also saw the Lortrim (im not spelling it right) that has MN but its a spray but way bigger than this lil tube. Im asking cause MTG is working for me. and I know you should stick with what works for you but if this is better I dont wanna be left out,lol. But I also dont wanna spend a small fortune either cause if it has 3 applications (and thats stretching it to me cause i applied my first treatment yesterday and half the tube is gone and I didnt use that much) and I'm applying it every other day for a month I'll need 5-6 tubes, thats almost $30 a month!

I would not get the spray. Check the ingredients - it may contain alcohol.

Also some people have purchased some from an ebay seller. They were $2 or less/tube.

If MTG is working for you, I say stick with it.

Personally, I am not on a "get long in record time" kick. I started looking for other options to help me grow out a patch of hair that I had to cut really short after a matted weave got removed last year. it was cut so short and in such an odd patch that i found it hard to style. Also, I cannot stand the smell of MTG and I don't like the oiliness of it. MN seemed like it was worth the try.

I know there are some ladies using both MN and MTG, but I personally don't want to over do it. There is just so much hair growth acceleration I want or that i thinnk my body take, but that is just me. I am not so eager to have LONG hair as I am to get my hair at a more even manageable state so that it can grow out nicely and I can still be cute.

Why change what is working for you? Unless you really want to get away from MTG, if i were you I would stick with it.

It seems like for the majority the tube is only lasting 2 days or so but I can get probably a week or like 5 days from mine. I don't think I am applying it in the same quantity as everyone else but I am still gettinig good results.

I have not used mine yet. But I mixed one tube of MN 1.59 oz with 1oz tube of hydrocortisone. I am probably going to add a little castor oil to make it a little thinner so it will spread more. I plan on starting tonight after I was and will track how long it lasts and report back. Q

Honeydew I agree that I should stick with what works for me which is MTG. There is just a few downsides to MTG that makes me want to look for an alternative. At first my ultimate goal was to have healthy beautiful hair like the girl on the front of the ORS relaxer box, lol, but then I did the BIG chop and I want my hair back. lol I know I should'nt rush it, that's why I have braids now to take the focus off my hair. But my neck is long and I am very length conscience and I want out of these braids and MTG is staining my silk sheets, costing me an arm an a leg to defunk it with Ylang Ylang oil, messing up my jewlery, the list goes on. But it grows my hair!!!
I figure once I am at atleast 7 inches (which is not too far away) I can cool my jets and take my braids down and focus more on healthy hair. I just heard a lot about MN and wanted to test an alternative. but I hear you on sticking to what works. thanks

I just started using MN I go through a tube every 2 days. I use it daily with the focus being on my hairline which is damaged because of braids. I still use MTG. I have only been on this for a week or two as well.

You sound like me. I want to get to a certain point and cool my jets, as well.

The negative things about MTG are the reasons why it could not work for me. That is why I explored other options - i just CANNOT stand MTG. And i only tried it a couple of times before I tossed it.

I'd rather smell like my lotions and body sprays and hair conditioners.

But, honestly, MN is cranking out some hair. You may want to try ordering Remedy Antifungal cream from Walgreens.com. It is much better all around and is lasting so much longer. It is more per tube, but from what i can see, it goes as far (if not more) than about 5 tubes of neosporin AF.

I stocked up on the 1 oz tubes from eBay, which turned out to be very cost-effective after the seller combined shipping. These tubes last a few days longer than the .05 oz Neosporin AF, and I paid less than $2 per tube.

I think he is getting hip to us, because when I bought my tubes the price was $1.77 + shipping. This link that I just found (same seller, located in Brooklyn, NY) indicates that the tubes are now $1.81. Still a TERRIFIC deal though. He has 129 tubes available.

If i were you, i would get them while the getting is good.

While most of the ladies are using Neo AF, I prefer ANY TOPICAL CREME WITH 2% MN in it. I found MN creme at my local Dollar Store (dollar store brand vaginal creme) . It was at least 3xs the size of the lil Neo AF and it was only 5 bucks. Check it out though.

I got the generic MN and added it to my la india hair creme w/ a dash of my jamaica &lime island oil. this mix will last me a good while.

IT IS MUCH BETTER AND LAST MUCH MUCH LONGER!!! The consistancy of this cream is much lighter so less is needed to apply and it still contains the same amout of MN. In my opinion, this 4 oz. tube can last longer than 5 or 6 tubes (or more) of neosporin AF.

Also check out all of those hair loving ingredients.

I insist that it is FAR better than the Neosporin AF or any other cream.
