I went to the mall today...
---and visited the Gap. With all due deference to anyone out there who likes Gap fashions, I think their spring clothing line is UGLY!!! Furthermore, the store's selection of women's jeans has been reduced to about two or three styles. What is going on ???
My Gap experience reminded me as to the reason why I do not purchase clothing at the mall, and why I have become an on-line shopper.

Re: I went to the mall today...
I noticed this too Northerngirl. I was at the mall recently and walked by the Gap. Now I enjoy items from the Gap each year but that new spring line made me stop and stare it was so...ugly, as you said! I believe I thought that word at the time. Gawdy was another word that came to mind when I walked by again.
I asked a month ago about the fewer jean selections and was told I can order the missing jean selections online, if I want to. I don't know what happened.

Unfortunately,I think this is a part of a scary trend this season. I'm just not very impressed with fashion in general right now - the designers aren't doin' it either. Nothing is fresh, new, unique - everything is recycled - like creativity has just taken a vacation.
Yuck.

Yeah, why is that?! What happened to creativity lately with fashion? Fashion has traditionally been related to what is going on in the world, politically, economically, etc. Something isn't quite right. Perhaps fashion is reflecting the world situation right now and it's a hodgepodge of things...

Re: I went to the mall today...
the gap has fallen off big time. i only buy basic pieces ther now, like tees. for a while last spring i thought they might be on the comeup again. the stuff was lookign real cute again. come to find out that one of the head designers at marc jacobs had become the chief designer for the gap. i wonder if she's gone???

I absolutely despise the Gap. There's no individuality in those clothes at all.....

Re: I went to the mall today...
The Gap was never a good place to shop for some unique individual pieces.
Also if you want to know where creativity went check out the haute couture lines of Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Chanel (the haute couture line)....
