I put all of my costume jewelery in its own little plastic ziploc baggie. You can find them in the craft section of a store for really cheap. You can get about 50 for a dollar and some change. Ive noticed that it helps preserve the jewelery, plus it makes it easier to find things because earrings are together and necklaces and bracelets aren't tangled up.

When I got married my shoes were full of rhinestones and the shoe store gave me tarnish stripes to stick in the shoe bag and I got married in 2006 and nothing has tarnished. Ask around at shoe stores or jewelry stores

I remember my neighbor saying she used clear nail polish on hers back in the day to prevent it from turning. IDK if you can do anything about things that have already tarnished.

I put a thin layer of clear nail polish on my costume jewelry when I first buy it to keep it from tarnishing. If it has already tarnished, there is not much you can do. You could possible use a nice gold nail polish to make it look gold again, but I dunno.

I have a jewellery roll and make effort to give my jeweller a wipe after wearing and put in the velvet roll. I find that when not thrown in a box with another times it keeps items free from scratches which in turn means less tanish.

I spray my costume metal jewelry with a clear spray paint. Same concept as using clear nail polish, but it's easier and it doesn't peel. I also store them in the plastic baggies (Walmart).
