Re: Weight Loss Testimonials:30 pounds or more
1) what was your preferred method of weight loss? Exercise and cutting back without giving up what you love
2) how much weight did you lose & how long did it take you to lose it? 50 pounds. It took my 10 months to lose it
3) what kept you motivated? Seeing my waist in the mirror, how good I felt and feeling my husband reaction.
4)did you have to start over repeatedly before being successful? no, once I made up my mind I knew I would follow through
5) do you think losing a lot of weight has more to do with mindset rather than mere ability? It def mindset.
6)what advice would you give someone who is trying to lose a lot of weight? Im not sure about that.
I would not recomend giving up the foods you love. I would cut back. Be sure you're doing it for the right reason.
7)please feel free to add any other suggestions, tips, advice, or before & after PICS!! I think I posted 1000 pics in the other thread, so I'll leave the pics alone.

Not my testimony, but one of my fav Youtubers. She lost 50 pounds. Very funny and she has a well documented journey. When I fall off the wagon, I watch her vids again.

Re: Weight Loss Testimonials:30 pounds or more
1) what was your preferred method of weight loss? "the old school way"..just eating more healthy and consistent exercise. i always count calories and try to stay under 1500 or so.
2) how much weight did you lose & how long did it take you to lose it?whew...well currenlty ive lost a total of 124lbs. went from 286lbs to 162lbs..and im still not at goal lol.initially it took me 2 years to get off the first 10-20lbs since i wasnt serious and was making very small changes in my eating with no exercise...then i sat down and had a talk with myself..i was tired of being overweight.during that time i was getting ready to go to college..just growing up period and i wanted a change. so i got serious about my weight loss in sept 09..i was about 260 and now 10 months later, im 162...so roughly close to 100lbs in 10 months?
3) what kept you motivated? the compliments and comments i kept getting, friends who i havent seen in a while not noticing me, even the extra attention from dudes. i didnt let it get to my head, but used it more so of motivation to keep going.i also browsed numerous youtube channels and diet/health forums.
4)did you have to start over repeatedly before being successful?well yes. before i tried losing weight, i wasnt as serious and determined as i am now..i honestly dont know what made me click and say "this is the last time of trying...im going to get serious this time" it just happened..
5) do you think losing a lot of weight has more to do with mindset rather than mere ability?mindset definitely. weight loss and determination is all in your mindset. like k bragg said, your body can only do so much until your mind says otherwise. i believe your mindset of weight definitely has to be THERE 100%.
6)what advice would you give someone who is trying to lose a lot of weight? curvy crly has said some great things..i believe in taking it slow. its what i did. baby steps..dnt just jump right in working out an hour a day and eating 1200 clean calories. start off slow and build your way up.i started off just with 20 min of exercise about 3-4x a week and eliminating fast food..then building up my workouts and eating habits from there.
7)please feel free to add any other suggestions, tips, advice, or before & after PICS!!
i feel an adequate amount of water daily is just as important as healthy food in weight loss..it helps aid in flushing out the system and all..
here are some before and after's attached
first pic was my highest weight-286
second pic-about 270-ishlbs
3rd pic-took about a week ago, 165lbs
4th pic-about 260lbs ish..i was a couple weeks into my new "lifestyle" journey
5th pic-yesterday night, 162lbs-you can see how my hair and weight has progressed

Re: Weight Loss Testimonials:30 pounds or more
1) I do portion control as well as work out at least an hr a day
2) ]Ive lost 60 lbs so far and it took 6 months to do it
3) What kept me motivated was ppl assuming i wouldnt do it
4) I have taken a couple breaks when i feel wore out but i still eat pretty good so during my work out breaks i still lose a little bit
5) you have to be in the mind set to want to lose weight in order to do it
6) Lose weight for u not any one else. It gets hard but keep doing it

Re: Weight Loss Testimonials:30 pounds or more
[QUOTE=asuperwoman;7788779]
My story may not help since I've gained back some of the weight but I still have 40lbs I've kept off for over a year.
1) what was your preferred method of weight loss?
Exercise (running and Jillian michaels 30 day shred vids)and moderate carbs. I never low carbed but I was mindful about keeping my daily carbs around 80-100. I also kept my calories below 1500.
2) how much weight did you lose & how long did it take you to lose it?
I lost 55lbs in 2009 and have gained 15 back
(I believe the weight gain is from not exercising...I'm one of those people that can't keep weight off from diet alone because I've always remained mindful of my eating habits but I really fell off my exercise game, like just fell completely OFF)
3) what kept you motivated?
Tracking my progress and all of the compliments I was getting.
4)did you have to start over repeatedly before being successful?
No, not initially..what I did was start a challenge with some of my friends(I kept going, they didn't)
Now to lose the 15 I've gained back, I guess you could say that is starting over.
5) do you think losing a lot of weight has more to do with mindset rather than mere ability?
It is ALL mental.
6)what advice would you give someone who is trying to lose a lot of weight?
Stay away from fads and quick weight loss scams. Long lasting weight loss really comes down to diet, exercise and lifestyle changes.
7)please feel free to add any other suggestions, tips, advice, or before & after PICS!!
Sorry, don't have any pics!
