Wow, thanks so much for this! I have recurring BV too and it's so annoying having to take those disgusting pills!

After you put the peroxide mix inside, you said you held it in for 2 minutes and then pushed it out. To hold it in, do you do something like kegal tightening? Like you're holding in pee? I've never douched before, so I don't know how to do it.

Do you think this would be okay for someone who's preggo?

Yea when I am in the shower standing up, I hold it better. When I am squatting, its hard to hold inside so i do the kegel tightening. I'm not sure about being pregnant tho... Things are so much more complicated when you are pregnant lol

Thats when I would get it after we have unprotected sex and he emits his "juices" I would get it it. If he pulls out, I dont get it. I guess my uterus just doesnt agree.

Good one, not exactly sure tho. I want to find out. Hydrogen Peroxide works wonders on so many things. Things you would not beleive. They have the food grade at 35% for ingesting and the 3% you find in the store.

IMO there are so many cures to alot of this stuff and I beleive that doctors do not want to inform people on this because they damn sure would be losing a hell of a lot of money. My grandmother has always hated medications. She Always has been an advocate for natural remedies. We just have to find out what works for what conditions.

I was scared to but hydrogen peroxide can work wonders in those crevices. My mom used to make me gargle with hydrogen peroxide as well. It works.

I had it last year and my GYN gave me Clindese. It went away the next day and I never had it again.

Never heard of it. Not to be in ur personal business, how did you get it and did you have the same partner afterward and unprotected sex? Cuz thats how mine reoccurs. As soon as i have unprotected sex with hubby, I get it agin.

Hum she needs to soak his wheeny in some peroxide. - - - Just playing. Really, I'm glad you found a great solution. Do you plan on doing preventative douches every 3 months or so or are you going to just use it if you get another BV?

Some people believe in holistic and/or natural approaches to healing. I do believe the OP saw a doctor already, but he/she was unable to prescribe medication that provided consistent relief. Thus to some people, doctors are not the end-all, be-all to every ailment -- no conspiracy, but reality.

My response was directed to dlewis when she asked what the difference was between yeast and BV.

The reality is that people treat vaginal discharge assuming it's a yeast infection, which is why in response to dlewis, if not to go to the doctor to get a prescription, you should find out what it is that's troubling you, especially if it's recurring.

I agree with this. I HATE going to the Dr. I have been healing my family of ailments for years and the only time I set foot in a Dr's office is if its something thats beyond my control and I cant fix.

For instance, my baby had a yeast infection and I didnt have a cure for that. I had to go to the Dr but maybe I could have put some HoO2 on her bottom to clear up the rash?

AIM: The authors have evaluated the real efficacy of using hydrogen peroxide for previously treated recurrent bacterial vaginosis that is resistant to other forms of treatment. METHODS: The study included 58 women aged between 18 and 42 years old. Vaginal irrigations with 30 ml of hydrogen peroxide (3%) were prescribed in the evening for a week. The follow-up was carried out 3 months after the end of treatment. RESULTS: The results clearly show that the use of hydrogen peroxide in vagina can eliminate the main symptoms of bacterial vaginosis, and in particular the malodorous leucoxanthorrhea in 89% of cases at 3 months after the end of treatment, a result that is comparable to that obtained using metronidazole or clindamycin as a vaginal cream. Moreover, hydrogen peroxide facilitates the restoration of normal vaginal bacterial flora (represented by H202-producing lactobacillus) in 100% of cases and normal acid pH (pH<4.5) in 98% of cases; it also fosters the disappearance of clue cells from vaginal smears and anaerobic pathogenic flora from vaginal secretions in 100% of cases. The amine test became negative in 97.8% of cases. All results underwent statistical analysis and were found to be statistically significant. CONCLUSION: Hydrogen peroxide represents a valid alternative to conventional treatments for recurrent bacterial vaginosis, and associates the absence of collateral effects with low costs, excellent tolerability and real therapeutic efficacy.

Wearing only cotton underwear - yes satin is sexy but there's nothing sexy about a yeast infection
sleeping with no underwear on - giving the coochie time to air out
watching our diet
drinking enough water

This has worked for me. I haven't had on in many many years, I think it's been about 7-8 years. And before I was pregnant with my daughter it was another many many years.

That makes sense, I use it for a rinse for my gums sometimes. I wish someone would have told me that when I was younger. I used to get it all the time and then had to take those pills, you aren't supposed to drink while taking them...seems like that was always a problem because I was traveling all the time and eating / drinking with co-workers...

I had been suffering from reacurrent BV for years since i was a teen.
Once my husband (there's that word again lol) started pulling out during his climax that pretty much stopped but now i'm dealing with yeast. My problem is that i eat way to much sugar (coffee and creamer) I did real good with not eating as much sugar but for the past few months i've fallen off the wagon. So i no another yeastie stampede is coming.

I will try your solution though i have not douched in a really long time.

Next time you see a doctor get a Rx for metronidazole for him too. I strongly believe in cases like these of recurrent BV and un protected sex that the dude has it too and is steady giving it back to the female.

You both should take a course of antibiotics, IMO. That is the only way my reoccurring infection went AWAY. You can douche all you want he is just going to give it right back to ya.
