Posessing The Secret of Joy by Alica Walker

Unassisted...yes.
Orgasmic...no.
Her site and book were instrumental.

Orgasmic Childbirth...am I reading this right?
This is intresting...how does that work?![]()
I Wish............
I just saw they had videos & photos
of women giving birth unassisted.
It wasinteresting...
and maybe I'm not mature enough to
see that because I almost threw up.
Viewing any birth makes you uncomfortable or was there something different about the unassisted births?
p1
Some women experience orgasm during birth (be it unassisted or not). I don't think it's something that can be made to happen. Also, someone feel stimulation during breastfeeding and others do not.
Every woman's body is different. Some of us have very low libidos and others are on hairpin triggers. I suppose though a woman who is having a natural birth (no drugs) MIGHT be more likely to experience orgasm if her system is built that way.
I had my last child at home, no doc, no midwife, and of course, no drugs. It was far from orgasmic, but also not terribly painful (compared to the first two which ended in c-sections). I also did not feel any sort of stimulation while breastfeeding any of my daughters.
Nonetheless, it's always interesting how folks like to the body to operate in neat little compartments.Orgasm when something's going in ya (if you're lucky), but not when something far larger is coming out?

Wow...thanks for the information Patient1! I guess any sensation is better than pain...so if you can get 'something' out of it then bless you
This is intresting...I guess since I've never experienced childbirth, it seems a bit of a mystery to me how these two nearly polar opposites in exeperiences could be entertwined. The connection between breastfeeding and stimulation...that seems more 'apparent' to me.
Hmmm...interesting I think I can see where the connection could be made? Maybe in a far stretched out way....
I took my delivery to the wire (without meds) and there was nothing remotely orgasmic about it.![]()
It's absolutely a mind over matter thing
I think you have to be open-minded to
experience it... from what I've read on that
website it seems absolutely logical...
I'm sensitive to seeing any childbirth...
I freak out if I see someone bleed from
a papercut. I only watched the one with
the lady all by herself... she made it look so
easy & painless. I'm still![]()

Well, orgasm is a series of contractions so I don't doubt it when women are in childbirth an org could occur.....
