would it be bad if I left my cornrows in for 6 months?
when do u rebraid it ?yes, very bad. Even 3 months for me, is pushing it but doable.
really? how is your hairI'd be taking down locs after 6 months. Good luck with that

yeahBetween the new growth and shed hair, it would be a disaster.
would every 3 months be ok to re braid them?I just learned how to cornrow and I'm not that great so I don't use the style regularly. In fact I'm about to cowash my hair and practice tonight. My TWA is now long enough to have a full braided style. But if I were doing them regularly, i'd probably redo them every couple of weeks.
okI've left a sew in installed for 4 months.. Washed every two weeks... My hair grew a lot and I had no matting or dreading .. Depends on what your hair can handle ..
because I am serious about hair growth and retaining lengthWhy do you want to leave braids in for that long?
Hmmp I don't think you should jump right into 6 months. That's extreme. If you are hellbent on keeping the braids in as long as possible I would gradually work my way up to six months. Like keep it 2 weeks longer than normal, then assess the hair for damage or weak spots.because I am serious about hair growth and retaining length
those are niceI would not advise keeping cornrows in for longer than one month at a time. Cornrows can be a great protective style if they aren't too small; however, they won't look as nice by the end of the month due to the new growth.
I kept this cornrow style in for 20 days.
Day 20:

If you are using cornrows as a base for another style, like crochet braids, they can last 2 - 3 months depending on how you care for them.
I kept these spring twists (crochet braids) in for 9 weeks:

This DIY cornrow crochet braid style was under $30: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LOxBU2fIkM
I guess so..If you can do the style yourself, isn't it easier to maintain moisture and growth if the style is refreshed each month?
so my mom did my cornrows Monday. she braided it with weave. but it looks frizzy and my hair itches so much. I tried braid spray but that doesn't help the frizz. oh well. I hope I get some growth
haha yeah I was patting..Are you doing ghetto style and patting the head because you could be pulling your hair out the weave if you scratching it with your fingers and causing frizz . I tried patting my head on my real hair (never had weave ) but for me it spreads the itch lol @jennifer30
