I tossed out:

Shealoe butter
Smooth n shine hair polisher
Bed head head rush

Do you ever feel bad for throwing away a product? The other week I threw away an old jar of Lustrasilk carrot deep conditioner from the back of Grandma's bathroom cabinet that had chunks and rocks in it. I still feel guilty about not trying to make it work.

^ Yeap, but sometimes I have to realize this is hoarder behavior since I never use a lot of stuff and it's just taking up space. I'm also tossing slowly since I really want to make sure I don't want it. :)

IDareT'sHair and anyone who can answer... I was just going through some of my stash to see what I need to use and I found my never used Claudie's Kpangnan Hydrating DC and see it has an expiration date for this month( I love that she does this..other vendors need to take note). Has anyone ever used her products after the expiration date w/ no problem? I know I have used other vendors products after the 6 -12 mo expiration date such as SD....

I always feel bad. Even if it has gone bad I feel bad for not using it while it was good or for buying it in the first place when I obviously didn't need it.

I need to think like this a little more. :yep:

I actually had a convo with Claudie about this a few weeks ago. She stated that she does this reference sake. Her products have been formulated to last at least a year, so to be on the safe side she only gives them a year shelf life.

She said to refrigerate it JIC. But just as long as the consistency and smell is the same it should be perfectly fine.

I pretty much narrowed down what my staples are. I may continue my search for a better DC, but I shouldn't be purchasing new products unless I change up my hairstyle. I may just do twists for the summer which I can use my current products for. I've been sticking to my staples so I haven't used much up this year.

I put AO Swimmer's conditioner and the MJ Jelly Soft Curls in the give away box. I'm not going to try to make them work. I purchased Garnier Fructis Split End Rescue or something like that.

I was mentioned but I'll be here more for support since I used up most of my stash on my year off from the forum. I mostly only restock staples and occassionally try samples. Since the weather is warming up, I'll be in mini braids and cowashing daily. Lots of condish, leave-in and gels will hit the bin.

I will update my stash for the new session once I sell this stash of CD Monoi products and a stash of Shescentit products.

I just finished preparing a box for my niece. It contains a bottle of Hairfinity vitamins, DB Daily Cleansing Conditioner, KeraCare Detangling Mist, L'Oreal Moisture Rush Masque, and Jbco Hair Food.

3. What are your goal(s) for the session
-Use up these Organix Conditioners (I'm SO OVER THEM!)
- Get rid of at least one of the leave in conditioners
- Start narrowing down MUST HAVES
- I really want to have a no buy for this session... If anything I will limit myself to a purchase every OTHER month.

Lastly, there are some items that I would like to repurchase... But will not for the time being. I would like to repurchase the Elasta QP Creme Conditioning Shampoo, Loreal Total Repair OR Redken Extreme. But only after using multiple products... And who knows, I may not need to re-buy after finding something I might like more. HAPPY STASH DECREASING!

I'm with you. I don't even look at dates. If it doesn't look bad or smell bad I don't worry about it. Most things that go bad have tell tell signs.

I ain't gonna judge you cause I do too. Lol. I was just making sure since Claudie's actually had an expiration date on it. Thanks.

I Agree.:yep:

If it isn't molded, separated, discolored, funk-a, curdled etc....then it's good to go!

I made good progress in the Let's Jam Extra Hold Gel today. I can't believe I've had it since 2012, but now I can see the bottom of the jar.

What suggestions do you have for using up a heat protector serum? That one is at least 4 years old and isn't even a fourth of the way used up. I so rarely use heat.

Maybe I could diffuse with the blow dryer more often and be sure to use a heat protector.

I know this is the use up your stash challenge, but my birthday is this week and ULTA is having a sale.

My list of things to try once these things go on sale on my birthday is the jumbo size of Matrix Biolage conditioner for $9.99 and the Love Your Hair Kit with 7 different sample/travel size products. I think the kit will help me find some staples without spending too much money on full size. Plus I can use it for travel.

I've been good. I keep looking at the Mother's Day sales, but I've been able to refrain so far. I just need to keep the strength till the end of the month when things go back to normal.

Tossed out:

Items from MJs sample pack- curly pudding scented, unscented, super sweetback conditioner

Curls control paste

Liked the MJs products, but they were old and unused.

Didn't like the curls paste, but it does smell nice. It makes my hair feel like I put super glue in it.
