Protein Treatment Before or After Straightening?

Before.

The extra protection helps with heat damage.

I generally don't do a protein RIGHT before straightening though. Probably a week or two before.

That's what I thought, but I was thinking that it could also help repair and strengthen after straightening too.

I'm going to straighten my hair for the first time next month and I'm trying to plan my next Aphogee treatment...

I did both.

I would do a medium-heavy before (a week before) , and a light protein afterwords.

But that's just me. I was highly afraid of heat damage while transitioning.

That is what I did also.

When I use to texturize; I would do a protein treatment a week before and then use a protein reconstructor after.
