It is so easy to say to yourself that you should be happy with what God gave you but sometimes I ask myself why couldn't I have been given thicker hair! My hair is natural and very very fine; the strands are fine and snap easily and I have thin hair overall. Not to mention my problem sides that just don't seem to grow. I just do not know what to do to make the most of my hair so I usually just keep it covered i.e in extentions.
My hair is so important to me (and I guess most of you ladies out there too) and that's why it affects me so much that I have thin hair.
Is there anybody else who feels like this and what do you do to your hair?
In answer to your thread question....
NO girl...you are
NOT the only one! I struggle with my naturally FINE type 4a/4b hair all the time. I hate it some days! It looks fly away sometimes, and it gets tangled and breaks very easily, and I just don't like feeling like my hair is "anorexic"!
And to make matters worse, I'm RELAXED! Girl, if you think your hair is fine when it's natural, imagine how I must feel with relaxed fine hair!
I always feel so "inadequate" even if my hair looks freshly done because my hair is never thick like some girls hair that I see. I always envy the girls who look like they have healthy
THICK hair you know?
But I can tell you that my hair has definitely thickened up since I seriously started my hair regimen.
Some things that helped me:
-Switching to a MILD (instead of regular) strength relaxer
-Minimizing my use of heat
-CO washes--thank goodness for these!
-Stretching my relaxer touch ups and waiting more time in between my touchups
-Using products that work with MY hair--detangling shampoos and conditioners, protein strength reconstructers, biotin shampoos, etc.
-Taking my hair and multivitamins--biotin, msm, gnc hair skin and nails....etc
The aforementioned things have truly helped my hair a lot.
Don't worry...our hair will thicken up the healthier it gets. We may not EVER have thick THICK hair (and I just have to accept that), but we can at least make the most of our fine stranded hair.
