What do you guys think about black strap molasses? I've been desperately trying to find a tea to help soothe my ms and ginger just did'nt cut it. I started drinking bsm tea every night about a week ago and I can say that the ms has dramatically lessened. I now only occasionally get a few seconds of ms and it fades. While it might be just my entering the 2nd trimester, I really feel the bsm tea has something to do with it. It's supposed to be very beneficial to you. High in vitamins, especially b-vites, calcium, iron, and mag. and it's actually quite yummy. ms is supposedly helped by b-vites and bsm is high in them. High in calcium too. I use 1-2 tb of bsm (unsulphured) add a squirt of lemon juice and boiled water and sweeten it with honey. I really think the nutritional advantages are worth it. Some people even add 1 tb of apple cider vinegar to it but I have not tried that yet because I've not looked up the benefits of acv yet. Try googling it and tell me what you think but for me I think it's a keeper.

If push comes to shove get your doctor to write you a prescription

Everytime I think about getting a rx for nausea meds I think about back when all those women took that rx for morning sickness and then ended up having children with deformed limbs. My old neighbor had been the result of that very med and was born with no arms. It makes me nervous.

My grandma swore by blackstrp molasses. I think it is very healthy.
Pregnant Woman shouldn't take any medication if possible. Most doctors will tell you to try and find natural remedies before giving a pregnant woman medication. Too many side-effects for the baby. There are very few meds safe for pregnant people.

Wanted to check in since DogMd and this thread has inspired me so much, I am 8 motnhs preggo and have only gained 13 lbs. My doctor is pleased with the weight gain, I have cut back my starch, sugar and salt intake and increased my veggies and fruit intake and I feel fine.

    Congrats KathyMay!

Yay! I'm so glad this thread was resurrected! I am 10 weeks pregnant and I've actually lost weight but not on purpose. I've lost about 5lbs. I haven't even been experiencing morning sickness the weight just fell off. I am about 30 lbs over my idea weight anyhow so my doctor was not too concerned.

All my bloodwork and labs have come back good. My blood pressure is good too. I am concerned about gestational diabetes as I was "borderline" diabetic pre-preg.

Anyhow I am working out and watching what I eat but I by no means restricting myself.

    Bump

This is an oldie but goodie, was moved to the pregnancy forum when we started that forum, but I have "copied" it to this forum as well.
If you want it, then you betta put the Word on it, oh oh oh!
25 Worship the LORD your God, and His blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, 26 and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.

I don't think all of her hard work would go down the drain if she did happen to be knocked up! I have heard that being in great shape (like KBragg) when you get pregnant keeps the pregnancy weight gain "normal" and also makes it easier to take off after the baby's out! Is that not true?
