Re: items that make you look polished
For me it is always: groomed hair, manicured nails, lip gloss, nice shoes and a good quality handbag.

I love my silk scarves. A dear friend of mine left me her collection of Hermes scarves. I really treasure them. Would like to buy more, but they're so expensive
And fragrance. I bounce pretty regularly between male and female fragrances, but it seems like a lot of good scents work on anyone.

um, will you please be MY friend???
I like wearing "male" scents as well. I love the way DH's Green Irish Tweed smells on me. Dare I say it smells sexier on me than it does on him.

Mllsme. Imperial, I have yet to sample. I really am in love with Jardin D'Amalfi, though. I sampled it last year and still have yet to own it. One day, hopefully. DH gifted me with Fantasia de Fleurs. While nice, it's not a rave for me. He likes it on me so I wear it to bed

I wear it because I have big eyes and I think I look better with it.

PANTS, MOSTLY BLACK BUT ALSO GRAY. I ACTUALLY WEAR A LOT OF BLACK. EXPRESS HAS WONDERFUL PANTS FOR WORK. I'VE GOTTEN SOME FROM EXPRESS AND SOME FROM MARSHALL'S OR TJ MAXX AND WEAR THEM FOR YEARS.
I like to spend money on clothes that are classic meaning that I can wear it for years and still look great. I will spend big money on these items, but for trendy things I won't. I have things that I've had for like 5 years that still look great and still look great on me.

Re: items that make you look polished
I think if you wear a plain outfit, but fix it up with awesome accessories...that will definitely make you look polished...just don't over due makeup.. I found a cute store that sell a lot of cool accessories that u don't see other people wearing...

A full face of flattering/neutral makeup. I think I've finally perfected the neural makeup look. Not too overly done, but obviously wearing makeup. Nicely fitting clothes. Not too tight, not too loose. I used to think tight = sexy, but that can work against you of it's not flattering to your shape.

neutral/muted makeup looks better imo than loud bright colours, especially for day/work.

@ gabulldawg -this is my goal exactly. Right now, I've only mastered eyebrows, but it never looks like I'm wearing anything, which I'm not a fan of..
Are there any posts on this in the makeup forum (flattering neutral eye makeup in particular)? I only know how to do searches through google and the makeup forum is private.
