I think all curly hair is prone to SSKs no matter how fine or silky. If it has a curl to it, there is a chance it can wrap around itself and create knots

He's 4 months? It's not much you can do. Plus it's going to fall out anyway.

You are doing the most with your baby's hair. Maybe just dilute his shampoo; full strength shampoo can be very drying/stripping and lead to knots & tangles. Just a few squirts of shampoo in a color applicator bottle and fill the rest w/water. Also, perhaps conditioning with an oil (just a tiny bit of castor oil should do it). I think babies need as close to natural as possible; and keep it simple, he's so little for you to have to even worry about his hair ! He looks so sweet n precious in your avatar picture

I don't shampoo his hair. I wash it with his johnsons baby wash. I oil it with olive oil daily and that's it. I only conditioned it once and idk when I'll do it again.

My son who is nine months has them. I don't really worry because I get them too. I just feel that it is part of being natural with curly and kinky hair. Also I only comb his hair when I wash it and I try not to play in his hair.

My son doesn't get ssks but lint gets tangled in his hair from time to time. I will dampen his hair and comb the lint out while conditioner is in it. It comes out with no problem. I rinse the condish out and put some grapeseed oil in his hair. I don't shampoo it often. Mostly cowashing. It is getting thicker and filling in nicely. Gotta keep it relatively simple for my little one.

My son gets them and he s 20 months ,I dilute his shampoo and it works fine . babies at 4 months don't produce enough sebum to be in need of shampooing ,just run a bit of warm water over his head mixed with his bath water ,dont worry it will be absolutley fine.

You'd think they'd care more because the products are for babies, but when you really look into it the products are total crap. It's tearless because they use numbing agents, and the products are just loaded with chemicals & mineral oil. I could never keep my boys skin or hair moist using them! To the point where they started getting eczema spots all over. Once I started using natural butters and oils, their skin evened out so nicely. Stopped shampooing, and their frizz turned to beautiful curls.

Now, whenever I go to a shower I bring things I've made myself for my friends....and I tell them to throw that Johnson's in the garbage.
