Natural Conditioners

I posted this in natural living forum but know that a lot of people do not enter there so re-posting here.

I have been trying to find a natural conditioner that provides good slip and have come up empty. I've had to return to chemical laden conditioners because detangling became a nightmare on my hair. I've had to cut over 4 inches off my hair because of breakage. I've tried adding oils and all the extra stuff. Nothing worked. Very disappointed.

Anyone have the same problems? How have u handled it?

Trader Joe Nourish spa gives tons of slip. Also you could just use oils like EVOO. Slather on the oil as a prepoo and detangle before shampooing and conditioning

Thanks so much. I will try these and hopefully something works. I'm still devastated because I was past bsl and now I'm just starting bsb and looks like I may need to cut more. NOT HAPPY!

The only conditioners that are "slippery" on their own are silicone, synthetic, plastic-oils conditioners. All conditioners can be slippery if you apply water first and let your hair absorb it before applying your conditioner. For me, Aubrey Organics GPB is the best detangler. It is thick and coats my hair in moisture and strength. I spritz water on my hair first (in sections), let it sink in, then apply the conditioner (let my hair absorb it), then detangle. I've tested other methods and it is undeniable that Aubrey is the best all around deep conditioner and detangler. I do this before I wash, so the AO gpb is my DC and pre-poo.

i responded to your post in the natural living forum.

@virtuenow that's not true natural products that have slip contain ingredients like slippery elm, marshmallow root, okra, etc. Darcy's leave-in is very slippery as was hydroquench systems go deep dc and greaseless moisture. now hydroquench has a line called the slip. products that are very ultra moisturizing tend not to have much slip in most cases but the ingredients i stated change that.

i prefer to use a slippy leave-in to detangle and use under my gel after my washing and condtioning process.

also know that mill creek conditioners don't have much slip but are moisturizing and give a nice shot of protein. i like the keratin one.
