Two Strand Twist with Extensions

Ladies, how long do these normally last for you and can I shampoo my hair with them in? If yes, then how? Excuse my ignorance, but it would seem that your own hair would come out of the twist???

Star, could you add me to your list also. I need serious discipline in my walk with God. I go along fine, then due to the demands of life I seem to fall by the wayside and resort to my old ways...

Re: Why the natural rebellion all of a sudden!?!

I wouldn't say rebellion, just in need of a change. I just returned from spending 10 days in Mexico. It was hot and humid. I was on a cruise. I didn't want to braid my hair, so I packed two wigs,...

Re: Monistat 7 for fast hair growth!!

I saw that show. The lady on Oprah worked for a dermatologist who told her to use a vaginal cream on her face because she was concerned about her extremely dry skin. He told her it was the best...

Re: Hair for braids

Synthetic hair holds up better with braids in my opnion. The frequent washing will make your braids frizz. What I do is to take a bowl with some water and diluted shampoo and go in between my...

Re: Removing hair with Nair

Do not use Nair on your head. Nair is made for "body" hair and it will burn sensitive areas. I do use a hair remover to shape my eyebrows.

Re: self relaxer-disaster

One thing I used when I would burn my scalp or face (long story) is vitamin E on the sore. Don't neutralize, I think it may just irritate your scalp. You could wash your hair with diluted shampoo,...

Re: self relaxer-disaster

Put neosporin or bacitration on your scalp and leave your hair alone. Find a very simple style and wear it until your scalp heals. Avoid excessive product useage on your hair right now. Do not...

Re: Twistout/Braidout Products Used to...

Thanks ladies. I think I'll try the NTM leave in and maybe the serum. I like the daily conditioner. Also, I'm transitioning so I was thinking the relaxed part shouldn't frizz at all, but it does...

Re: Twistout/Braidout Products Used to...

So, does your leave in and oils eliminate the frizz? I only manipulate to cover parts. I try not to handle, because it does cause frizz.

Twistout/Braidout Products Used to...

Ladies what products do you use to define your twist? I have 4a, thin hair, and I'm 6 months post relaxer. I don't have a problem detangling and my hair seems to be doing fine.

I have been...

Re: Aphogee and relaxing

I used the stinky protein conditioner. The one you had to let harden, then rinse out. But after relaxing your pores are open and it can sting if you get it on your scalp.

Re: Oh lord... I was asked a "do black people" question

I don't mind the questions because I ask them questions too. One co-worker asked me how often I wash my hair and I told her it all depends on how I'm wearing it.

She said she wanted to stop...

Re: HELP: I did a braid out last night! I NEED HELP!

Yep, a headband will get you out of all kinds of messes.

Also, if you wear pantyhose, and get a run. Cut the good leg off and use this as a headband. Works wonders if you need one real quick.

Re: HELP: I did a braid out last night! I NEED HELP!

if your hair is still damp, it is going to frizz when you take it out. I would try to pin up some how into a style. Take the braids out, don't comb, take the sections and see if you can pin up, or...

Re: Do it yourselfers--motivation? key moment?

I've always done my own hair. The few times when I did attempt to find a stylist and go on a regular basis, always turned out bad. I didn't like the way they did my hair. They didn't respect my...
