Disappointed with MAC Naked Honey collection
Ladies, don't get me wrong, it's a gorgeous warm, golden WOC friendly line - especially if you're just starting out your makeup collection, but there was nothing that stood out enough for me to peel off some greenbacks. I have so many similar colors already that I can't justify buying anything from NH.
I have been lusting over Pollinator e/s for months but it is so much lighter than I thought. I was hoping for a rich apricot, but it's one or two shades darker than Samoa Silk, a color I absolutely despise. The lipglosses are pretty but easily dupeable, especially by one of the 12 or so VS lipglosses I just picked up at the 75% off sale.
The honeycomb highlighters ARE NICE but I have so many products that I could use to dupe them that I just left them there. Both perfumes smell like behind , the thick salve STINKS and is waaay too sticky, like honey , and the lotion seemed moisturizing but the smell was nothing to write home about. I'm passing.
I'm going to empty the NH items I had out of my cart and stick to all brushes and empty palettes when I do the F&F sale.
So what do you guys think? Is it just me?

Re: Disappointed with MAC Naked Honey collection
Aww man!!! Well, I guess I'll scratch everything from this collection off my list.
I was looking for forward to Pollinator as well, but as soon as I found that it was sheer I scratched it off.
I heard that the glosses were glittery....is that true?

Re: Disappointed with MAC Naked Honey collection
I was so not looking forward to this collection that the launch date came and went without me even noticing--and that has NOT happened since I got into makeup this last year. The colors seem boring and I don't think I want skincare products from MAC, just good makeup. I'm waiting for Color Craft--but just for the brush and one or two blushes--namely Style Demon.

I am so glad that NH has nothing I want because I'm already dropping damn near $300 just on MAC "Necessities"......

Re: Disappointed with MAC Naked Honey collection
The color scheme is right up my alley! I love peaches, apricots, golds, creams and browns. But Pollinator really let me down. The brown and cream shadows are nice but don't stand out enough to warrant a purchase. I have at least 10 - 12 cream and brown shadows/pigments already, and nothing about these 2 stand out.
I was poking around on Specktra and a couple of the ladies there say the perfume smells like Grandma. I was trying not to go there, but.... One of them says her SO told her that. Needless to say I won't be getting the perfumes.
I swatched the glosses and I don't remember glitter, I do remember a lot of frost and shimmer. And I have fallen out of love with frosty lip products for the moment.

Re: Disappointed with MAC Naked Honey collection
I was coming in here to post this. I went to the counter in Macy's and you all know I have been lusting after pollinator e/s. I swatched that ish and it disappeared. All the while the MU is "I looooove this line, I want everything. You want me to put the pollinator e/s on you?" **** please! None of that ish is exciting. I was thinking of getting buckwheat e/s but I have a couple of dupes at home. Both of them perfumes stank! The salve was a maybe and them I saw the $18.50 and said hayle naw!
I am soooo underwhelmed.

Girl you summed it up perfectly! I was mad at that Pollinator! I've been wanting it for months.

Re: Disappointed with MAC Naked Honey collection
This is really upsetting. I've been waiting all this time on Pollinator to find out that it sucks!!!!!!!! I'm going to delete the e/s out of my cart but I'm still getting Queen Bee. I love peachy lip glosses and I haven't been able to find the perfect peachy gloss since Moonbathe.

Re: Disappointed with MAC Naked Honey collection
Aww, too bad you all don't like it. I just bought Buckwheat (the darker e/s...I think) and one of the lip glasses (Buzz). My make up collection is sparse though, so I don't have anything like them.
