Smile Flexirod Set -Step by Step (with lots and lots of pictures)

1 Wash and condition hair

2 Section hair and spray diluted settion lotion on the section your going to work on (I use the same dilution I use for my rollerset but I think it should have been less diluted)

3 ok, let start rolling
When starting at the end of the flexirod, you want to roll the first little bit of hair around itself (I hope that makes sense) and then continue to roll the hair on the flexirod up toward the scalp in a spiral fashion

4 Twist the part of the rod at the scalp in the opposite direction of the way you rolled it. This secures the rod.

5 finish this section and continue to do the rest of the head

6 Sit under dryer until completely dry

7 Separate into smaller section with your hand

Needed

Flexirods
combs
setting lotion
bands for securing sections
oil (I used my Ghee mixtures on my hair after my hair dries)

Wash and section hair

I started at the back this time - thought it would be easier

and then I continued to the front and sides

How to roll the hair

When starting at the end of the flexirod, you want to roll the first little bit of hair around itself (I hope that makes sense) and then continue to roll the hair on the flexirod up toward the scalp in a spiral fashion

Twist the part of the rod at the scalp in the opposite direction of the way you rolled it. This secures the rod.

Day 3

Day 5 (after sleeping with no bonnet on)

BEeautiful DLewis!

I would love to try this but I'm scared my hair would be a tangled mess.

It was a tangle mess when I went to comb it out for washing. But I section the hair and just did a little bit at a time.

Wow, thanks!!!! I have always wanted to try this but thought that it would come out looking crazy if I did it myself. Thanks SO much for the detailed explanation with pics, I can't wait to go pick up some rods and do my own, hopefully by this weekend. About how many rods did you use?

Your set came out beautifully by the way!

I wear a bonnet at night. I'm a wild sleeper so this style will last me 4 days.

I use the Ion soft bonnet hair dryer on LOW, high is HOT!. I only use hi when I rollerset because the rollers protect my scalp. Last time I did this style I use hi for 30 mins and then low, etc. It dried my scalp out badly.

This is just too pretty.... I mean this is BEAUTIFUL.

Do you think my hair is long enough to try this, or should I wait til I'm closer to shoulder?

I believe it is. It would prob look similar to the black lady on the clorox wipes commercial. Her hair is shorter and very pretty.
