Any fat girls with Metabolism B?
Symptoms - Tummy weight gain
- A strong drive to eat candy cookies, etc.
- Fatigue
- Anxiety
- Mild Depression
I found this article, coincidentally, after I started a sugar fast. I finally feel in control of my eating. I am no longer having seconds or thirds or eating when I am already full.
This is amazing information, and provides a lot of insight into why I was so out of control for so long. I'd been out of control with food in general, and especially sugar, for years.
According to Diana Kress, RD, " At least 46 percent of women are born with a gene that prompts the pancreas to overreact to carbohydrates... Left untreated, the chronic blood sugar fluctuation fatigues the pancreas..." This leads to type 2 diabetes.
Some people who have followed her guidlines have been able to stop using mood-altering drugs like Prozac and treatments for bipolar disorder!!! Sugar is truly the devil.
There is an article in the magazin called First for women, dated November 16. She also has a book called " The Metabolism Miracle: 3 Easy steps to regain control of your weight... permanently."

Re: Any fat girls with Metabolism B?
And, actually, i had this metabolism when I was very thin as well, so.
It's not just limited to fat girls. But this will get a slim girl into fat girl territory.

Former fat girl checking in Yes carbs can do a serious number on me, that's why I'm carb cycling now

Re: Any fat girls with Metabolism B?
Thanks for sharing. I just added her book to my Amazon Wish List. I saw that it has a lot of 5-star reviews.
This makes me even gladder than I was yesterday when I threw Twizzlers in the garbage. My co-worker gave me Twizzlers that he didn't want and I gave them to the trash bin under my desk.
You're right about this getting a slim girl into fat girl territory. That's what happened to me when I was smaller and had nonstop bagels, candy, donuts, soda, etc.
And I sure do know about eating after already being full.

Re: Any fat girls with Metabolism B?
I bought her book yesterday. One of the last two copies at B&N.

Re: Any fat girls with Metabolism B?
I dunno. I think avoiding a large amount of carbs makes sense, but the metabolism B stuff doesn't work perfectly. For example, I tend NOT to gain weight on my waist, but when I was a chubby pre-teen I gained weight from eating donuts, candy etc. I still like those things, and sugar and carbs still make me sleepy and triggers carb cravings.
My point is, I don't fit the exact profile, but I STILL think sugar is the devil
So I doubt your metabolic type really matters, at least in the way she's describing it.

Re: Any fat girls with Metabolism B?
This is interesting; this describes me pretty closely. I'm not overweight, or close to it, but sometimes I'm getting pretty fat and am destined to be fat because of my appetite...
I don't eat when I'm full, though. I'm just always hungry.
ETA: Oh, I also don't gain weight in my tummy, but everything else is spot on.
