Pros: Love the smell, love the coconuts, love the herbs!!
Cons: none

This hair oil is EXCELLENT!! It is very lite, not sticky, tacky, or oily. I only need to apply a small amount of this oil to my hair and I get the prettiest shine, and my hair is ever so soft. This indian hair oil is based in natural coconut oil, but it also has oils of henna, amla, and lemon to strengthen the hair. Gosh I love the way this smells. I use Vatika to seal, to baggy, to do hot-oil-treatments.....everything! And my hair is never ever oily.

mmmmmmm........Vatika!

Pros: price, smell, moisturizing qualities
Cons: hard to find

I love this product. It's really inexpensive and smells really good. I use it as a sealant and because of the coconut oil in it also helps to moisturize my very dry hair. This is a great product but was a little hard to find. They didn't carry it at the local BSS or at any major retailers. So, I had to find an Indian Grocery Store in town who carried it. But it was definitely worth the work to find it.

Pros: Light, smells great & fantastic price.
Cons: none

I love this oil! It smells good, it's not heavy and it has all the oils in it I have been wanting to implement in my reggie. I live in a highly diverse area and the indian store is around the corner and they have boxes of this stuff for $1.99!

Pros:
Cons:

Decent lightweight coconut oil, I don't like the lemon in it much though I prefer the jasmine scented light coconut oil if I'm buying this mixed coconut oil. I prefer the pure thicker coconut oil and the natural scent is yummy.

Pros: Hair is so soft! Smells great!
Cons: none so far...

So I'm still kinda new and lurking a bit, learning about different products while trying to build a regimen for my hair. I read about the Vatika Coconut Hair Oil, and knowing how much I love all things coconut, and that my hair has loved coconut in the past, I went out in search of an Indian shop here in Savannah. FOUND ONE, and I found the Vatika, as well as the Dabur Amla Oil. Well they both smell GREAT, and I like the additional oils in the Vatika Coconut Hair Oil.

Well, last night I followed the directions on the the bottles, deciding to mix 2 teaspoons of the Amla Oil with a sufficient amount of the coconut hair oil to get into my thick hair and scalp. I used a medicine dropper from an old oil bottle that Bath&Body used to sell to get the oil mixture right onto my scalp as I parted my hair. Then I massaged... oooh, I love the smell of the Amla Oil with the scent of the coconut oil! Once I had massaged my whole scalp and rubbed the oil throughout my hair, I covered it with a plastic cap, then with my satin sleeping cap, and went to bed. This morning, I got up about 30 minutes earlier than usual to sit under the dryer with just the plastic cap on. I stayed under for 15 minutes, and then jumped into the shower to shampoo (using Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo), condition (using Tres Emme Moisturizing Conditioner while I soaped up), and rinse (with my cheapie White Rain tropical coconut conditioner as a leave-in).

MY HAIR FELT SO SOFT AS A SLID THE BRUSH THROUGH MY HAIR!!! I COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW SOFT AND MOISTURIZED IT FELT!!

I combed my hair up into a wet bun and came on to work. I keep sliding my hand over my slicked back hair because my hair still feels SO SOFT!

These two oils are definitely going to be staples for me!

Pros: Ingredients
Cons: Hard to find

So I have used this oil for the past 7 or so years but it is getting harder and harder to find it in my area. Also, online vendors are really getting over price-wise due to the popularity of this product.

So I have, since, swithced to plan coconut oil since that can be found everywhere. I do like the added ingredients in the Vatika coconut oil but I also can't say that it worked miracles on my hair or anything other than preventing new gray hair. Plus I got worried about that hyrdroquinone (sp) in it -- maybe there was nothing to worry about?

Pros:
Cons:

I have been using it since summer 09 when i found it at my local indian store, I like it..the smell is not too yummy ( my bf thinks it stinks ) ..I used two to 3 times a week, after washing my hair and only blowdry the roots before I wrap it at night i would put some on my scalp, massage it and seal with EVCO..a little goes a long way.
