So, I got a Dominican blowout on Sunday, that I was hoping to rock at least through this weekend. Well, yesterday's all-day drizzle all but destroyed that dream. My hair was so frizzy when I got home, and I was too tired to wrap my hair up (I know, I know) :perplexed To make matters worse, I work tonight and busted hair is not acceptable at the restaurant where I work. Being the problem solver I am, I put a little of my new Lacio Lacio and some Castor oil in my hair, put it in bantu knots, then kept them in all day. I just took a shower with my hair uncovered so that the steam could get to them, and this is what I got!

Hair knotted with clips

Hair taken down after shower. It's cool, but I'm not to happy because my ends came out kind of straight :ohwell:

Being the quick thinker I am, I pulled it back and threw a silk flower in it. I'm a vintage queen, so this fits my work outfit.

Ta-da! Bantu knots and some retro styling saved my rained-on blowout! Now I gotta get off this forum before I'm late for work!

OK I am Susanna, I live in the UK and a long term LHCF member ( 7 years). I am a 4b/a mixed

Since the beginning my problem has been breakage, and over the years I have tried everything to bring this under control with no luck. MY hair has been natural for about 10 years and it has never been beyond my ears. Relaxers/texturiser cause awful damage to my hair.

All I want is shoulder length twist...not a lot for a girl to ask.

My current regime is

Weekly condition washes. I use a variety of conditioners from Aveda, Organic Roots, Herbal Essence, sometimes on their own, sometimes with addition oils. Sometimes left overnight. Then dried naturally and twisted. Left in twists for the week. Sleep on satin pillow or bonnet. This hair has had the best and cheapest spent on it.

I have done the henna, protien, moisturing, heat, no heat, finger, brushes

But I always have the same breakage, nothing seems to improve it.

The only thing that seems to work is to put it into braids, but I cannot afford it any longer!

My health is good, my diet could be better, I am prone to eczema but at the moment only small patches.

Please help ask question, query every thing. I feel I have tried everything available to me! I dont believe my hair was much longer even when I was a child.

I see ladies here who have been natural for 2 years with longer hair than mine.

Do I just give up and accept, shoulder length hair is not going to happen for me.

Thanks for everything

Susanna

He said once you pay for the item at $2.99 a receipt for $2. You can use it right away if you are purchasing other items (which has to be done separately since you need to get the coupon first). I know its definitely going to be on sale until 11/21 but since its not part of the printed ad it may continue into next week. I did not read the tag while I was there.

I've heard Aussie 3 minute miracle mentioned on here which is why I tried it (PJ-itis) in the first place so I just thought I would share.

*hee hee* I forgot to post this when it happened a couple months ago. My friend asked me to help her dye her hair black. Of course I said yes, even though it was late and I was tired. In my tired laziness, for some reason I took off the gloves because they were in my way of fingerparting her hair (shes got a ton of hair) the results are pictured below. :wallbash: We scrubbed my hands for almost an HOUR, with everything from dishsoap to gasoline (bad I know:rolleyes:) to paint thinner!! That crap WOULD not come off for nothing!!!! Silly me :lachen::rolleyes: they thought it was hilariuos, I on the other hand was wondering what was gonna happen at work the next day. LOL
So I go into work the next day, all the YT ladies cacked up like I was an idiot, everybody kept saying I look like i had been frostbitten sumthin horrible!!(not an idiot just had a slow moment is all:lachen:)

Fast forward to later on that night. I had TOTALLY forgotten that I had promised my friend that Id go to her Mary Kay Consultant meeting. As you can imagine, the women were scared to even look at me let alone talk to me.......... I couldnt for the life of me figure out WHAT they were looking at, then I remembered my hands, and I wanted to bury myself alive:dead: :lachen: sooooooooooooo I pulled a MJ and wore gloves for a week (but they wasnt white tho) :lachen::rolleyes:

Lesson Learned: DONT TAKE THOSE GLOVES OFF WHEN DYING HAIR!!! DUUHHH!

ETA: Today its Nov 20th this happened in Sep. My fingernails are still tipped black, but my hands went back to normal after a week.
