Have you ever been tested for food allergies?

I was tested as a teenager. I was allergic to dairy, wheat, tomatoes and corn. I eventually outgrew everything but my allergy to dairy but they say almost every African American is allergic to dairy. Anyway, as a result, my skin cleared up and my breathing became much better.

I was tested in 03 for allergies. I already had seasonal-type allergy symptoms and was referred to this doctor to see about allergy shots. Well, the first thing she wanted to do was a type of skin testing of ALL kinds of things, foods, trees, grasses, weeds, and molds! I found out i was allergic to chicken, turkey, whole eggs, pork, shellfish, and catfish!! EVERYthing that I eat! I was also told to get rid of my cat and rabbit...yea right. Basically I still eat the same things and I still have my cat!! I don't really know what my reactions to all of these things are, maybe these are my triggers for my symptoms but I can live with a little stuffy nose and dry eyes. HTH:grin:

I haven't been tested but I believe I am allergic to crab meat. Every time I would eat it my face would break out a little. Last month I had some type of crab meat 3 days in a role and my face broke out in a really ugly rash :eek: :eek: :eek:. I had bumps on top of bumps on top of bumps all over my face. They were little red bumps and some had little white heads. :eek: I busted all the white heads, applied alcohol all over my face and applied MTG and it cleared up in 3 days. :) I haven't had an outbreak since I stopped eating crab meat. :D
