I been working out for the last month and a half to lose 20 pounds but haven't made much progress . I know my eating habits have alot to do with this but I'm working on that. I have a hard time working up a sweat during workouts. I'm not the type of person that sweat easily. I sweat some in the chest area and back area but nothing major. I know it doesn't take much for some people to sweat. One thing I tried was working out in a sweat shirt but my shirt still wasn't drench. I'm thinking maybe I need to push myself more when I'm working out. Has anybody else had this problem and what did you do to about it? I'm always open to hear everybody else suggestions.

Yes, it could be that you're not challenging yourself enough. But you say that you don't sweat easliy, so you're probably not going to get soaked during your workouts anyway.
I would suggest just concentrating on burning a set amount of calories or going for a certain number of miles per workout and leave it at that. I alternate my cardio between the elliptical trainer and walking on the treadmill. I burn the same amount of calores doing each, but I sweat a BUNCH more on the elliptical trainer. As long as I'm burning the calories that I want or going the distance that I want, that's fine for me.
As long as you know that your body is functioning properly, by doing some sweating then I think it's ok.

I am kinda the same way...my mom is like that too, just naturally not a "sweater"....my hubs on the other hand...he's a dripper...sweats sooo much, ewww!
However, once I started upping my intensity level of my wrkouts my sweating did increase...Im still not a "dripper" but I do sweat enough to see it on my shoulders, chest and face after a run etc. Unfortunately I sweat a lot in the nether regions and under my breasts...annoying!

You lose weight when you burn more calories than you take in. That doesn't necessarily require sweating like crazy. Sweating is just your body's natural defense against overheating.

Good advice MizAvalon, using a caloric goal as a gauge is a good idea, that way you're burning the amount of calories you want regardless. I also suggest maybe getting a heart rate montior, monitoring your BPM will give you an idea of where your target heart range/zone you're in to efficiently burn fat.
I so wish that I could work out without building up a sweat. I don't even have to work hard and I'll be sweating like a pig, I hate it so much I can't even go to the gym without a towel :( . If I forget my towel, then I forget the gym . It's so embarrassing, I normally work out for about an hour and by the time I'm done my towel will be soaked so consider it a blessing  . What I don't understand is that I've never had this problem before, I've always sweated a lot but not this much so perhaps it's the weather. I haven't worked out consistently in the summer for a long time so that may be it.

I used to be that way until I stopped using anti-perspirant. I have no idea why, but now I work up a sweat quite well.

That's me
I can workout until I can barely breathe and not have visble sweat. I do sweat, I can feel it, but not drip or bead up like alot of people. I feel it on my scalp, back, under boobies that's about it
A lot of people have this problem (though I would be jumping for if I had this "problem". Anyway, IMHO, the best thing in your case would be to purchase a heart rate monitor. Then you wouldn't be focusing so much on how much you sweat.

Thanks for the advice ladies! I think I will purchase a heart rate monitor so that I know when I'm in the fat burning zone.

I don't really sweat either.... I usually wear a 2 shirts one short sleeved and one long sleeved and jogging pants. But I never really work up a sweat like others I see. :)
