View Full Version : Tricep Help!

Okay, for real--my triceps need some serious help. That area of my arms is so flabby! But here's the thing--I've lost about 10 pounds in the last year and I'm in a very comfortable weight range and not overweight by any means. I wouldn't mind losing a few more pounds, but not enough that would probably make a difference in my tricep area.
So, what can I do? It's my understanding that no matter how much toning/weights I do, I can't change the flab to something it's not. (muscle) I know that I can build muscle underneath the flab, so what can I do short of drastic weight loss? Would toning and weights help that area even without weight loss?

Hey Supergirl
i would suggest you try doing tricep dips...they really work, lots of ladies at the gym have been doing them and they love them! they ahev seen some great progress...also i think one of the best exercises is..i cant remember the name right now
lie on a bench and extend arms striaght above you holding a weighted bar then bend ure ams at ure elbows...keeping elbows in the same position...so basicially the bar is just above ure forehead then return to starting position and repeat...
tricep kick backs also work really well. if you have access to a gym then i would definately say use the weights section and you will see results fast!

Okay, these sound good--especially the tricep dips. I have some weights here at home so I'll get right on it--literally! I'm going to go do tricep drips RIGHT NOW! (before I jump over to another board :D)

Good luck supergirl the triceps are the largest muscle in the arm it makes good sense to target this area for overall definition. Tricep dips, skull crushers, and kickbacks are all great. Pilates and Yoga moves are what worked for me. They require alot of support, with the arms lifting the entire body weight. Don't forget cardio not for weight loss, but for overall health and conditioning. Workouts like kickboxing are great because you are working your arms and heart at the same time.:)
