I've been using proactiv for a few weeks now, too clear up side effects of taking MSM, and suddenly the skin on my nose and on either side of my nostrils is really raw. Its kind of peeling and looks irritated.
I think it may be from my rubbing kind of hard in those areas, especially since my face is so sensitive. But i want to continue it's use since it's stopping any zits from popping up. Has this happened to anyone else? Did you keep using it?

Proactiv was drying for me. I returned the regular kit and received the sensitive skin formula. MAybe you should request that. I did not see results. So I did not continue using Proactiv.
Recently I have some wonderful products. I am telling everyone about them, because are great to me.
Check out Serious skin care Continuously Clear Line. It is great. After starting with the SSC Continuously Clear kit, I branched off into the Glycolic Line. What has helped me is exfoliating every day with a scrub i.e, Buff Polish. The products I have used have all worked very well for my skin. My skin is oily and slightly acne-prone.

Dag, proactiv was my best friend! It really cleared my skin up, it was smooth and never got irritated. I went on BC and since then my acne hasn't shown up.

Benzoyl Peroxide can do that to your sensitive areas around the eyes, lips , nose...try not to apply it there in the future especially the pimple cream the wash and toner may be fine but be careful where you put the cream.

I HATE PROACTIV
Not only did it dry out those areas, but it cause those same areas to swell up. I looked like a raccoon for about a week because of it!

Proactiv was too strong for me. :nono: My skin burned so bad, so I returned it for a refund.

Are you using anything else besides what is in the kit?
I have been using Proactiv for some time. I would use it, my face would clear and then it my skin would get dry out and become "immune" to it.
What I discovered is that the lotion in the kit IS NOT a MOISTURIZER. I always thought that my skin was oily so I didn't need a moisturizer, but I added the Clean & Clear Oil Free Dual Action Moisturizer and now I'm in good shape. It seems as if my skin just needed balance.
The Target brand version of the moisturizer works and Proactiv makes an oil-free moisturizer as well.

I agree, I was having that same problem, the lotion is not a moisturizer, and it was really drying my face out (especially since it had strong medicine in it). Since then, I switched to the gentle formula. The lotion is a lot more moisturizing (there is both a day lotion and a night lotion) and it is more gentle. I like the results of the gentle formula.
