Hi Ladies,
I'm sure some of you saw my post earlier in the summer when I got an awful case of heat rash. I thought I would let you know what I did in total to rid myself of it (thanks to many of your tips), and what I'm doing/using to keep it away.
1) I stopped using all products that include oil on my skin, including my beloved Ponds moisturizer. Up until the time I got this rash, Ponds was doing me justice.
2)At night, after washing my face with a cleanser that has salycilic acid in it, I used an astringent, then I powedered my face with a powder containing cornstrach. I slept with this on my face. I did this until the heat rash cleared, it took a couple of days.
3) Here is my current regimen that has kept the rashes at bay and the occasional pimple that I would get:
Cleanser: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti Blemish Cleanser
This cleanser contains a mild amount of salycilic acid for pimples and alpha hydroxy for wrinkles.
Astringent: Biore Triple Action Astringent
Serum: Prescriptives Super Line Preventor
This stuff feels great on my skin. It is very light. It protects my skin from my make up, and also provides a smooth surface, and prevent wrinkles. I apply this day and night.
Moisturizer: At first I was using Hylunia Super Moisturizing Day Lotion and Super Moisturizing Night Serum ( I got samples when I got a spa treatment). I ran out of my samples and didn't feel like spending over $100 to buy these two items. So I now use Prescriptives All You Need Fast Acting Moisturzer for Oilier Skin.
I follow this same regimen in the mornings and the evenings.
Another thing is I stopped using foundations that contain oil, I only use Prespcriptives foundation and setting powder now. MAC is too oily for my skin that is suspectible to heat rashes.
The number one thing that has helped to keep the heat rashes at bay is using oil-free products, and make sure none of my hair products touch my face. If they do I wash my face and start over again.
I hope this helps someone who might be suffering, I wish I knew this stuff at the beginning of the summer. Now that NY is going to have a heat wave this week, I'm not worried.
