Anything with hydroquinone should clear up dark spots.

Try Black Opal Advanced Dual Complex Fade Gel. Works very well in conjunction with Glycolic acid products such as MD Forte.

Anyone one know how long this kind of stuff takes to work?

It has never really bothered me before but I am noticing that I have alot of spots on my legs and when i think back alot of women in my family have them. At the risk of grossing anyone out, they just look like a miniature ingrown hair in every pore. Does anyone know what I am talking abut? i also have them around my elbow area. I never bothered them before but just recently I noticed that they are infact little ingrown hairs if you are looking closely enough. what can I use to even out my skin tone and more importantly get rid of this problem?

Does ambi and those sort of creams work for the rest of you body? Or is there one that is stronger?

You should give Tone bath soap a try. You have to be consistent with it though. Last summer I had spots all over my back and so I started showering with Tone soap and of course by now, all the spots are gone off my back. It's the only bath soap I use, and it truly does even out your skin tone. It must be the cocoa butter.

Thanks for the suggestion, can I buy that at any store? Like a walgreens or Wal-mart?

Hi Camille:

You have folliculitis on your legs. I have them around my knees, on my thighs, and on the back of my arms. The best thing you can do is pay attention to these areas in the shower or bath, and make sure that you scrub them. After a few months, they should be completely gone.

Thank you Honey Vibe! I looked up alot of info on the topic, I'm just wondering, what kind of bath accesories should I use? A Loofah Sponge, or will a plain ol' rag do? and do you have any suggestions for the type of soap to use and which ones aren't that great for people with this condition? I use alot of body washes and if that is too mild, I'd really like to know. I'm going to buy the Tone soap today for the dark spots left behind.

I am also going to start using Nair instead of razors

Camille, you'll want to use something with salicylic acid in it to exfoliate or the loofah you referenced, but use it gently. In a pinch, you can use a little baking soda in a liquid body wash. Also a lotion with lactic acid will help such as LacHydrin, which in the US, you can find at the drug store or AmLactin, some times you can find at the drug store or at www.dermastore.com. (http://www.dermastore.com.)

I have been using Estorica, and it hasn't helped me. I have this one dark pimple in the middle of my face like an Indian, instead of it being red it's black. Thank God my bang cover half of it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Hi Camille,
Make sure that your soap is antibacterial. A regular hand towel should be just fine. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Best of luck!

Ok this is what I am thinking, I have purchased a loofah sponge, but to tell you the truth I was throughly disappointed, it didn't feel like it ws doing anything /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif but i used it anyway. Like I said I am going to start using depilitories and is Palmer's cocoa butter too oily for my skin? I read somewhere, that if you have this condition then you shouldn't, but I want the effects of the cocoa butter. I was going to buy that Tone soap, but I went to Walmart and they only sold it in like a 16 pack, so I was going to try some other places. Thank you so much for your advice /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif, are your bumps gone completely? Do they return? and what do you do for the scars left behind?

They're completely gone for my sister, but there are still some on my legs. They tend to get worse in the winter, when I wear tight pants that trap dirt and won't allow my skin to breath. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/look.gif
